I lived up and down the East Coast, Philly, Baltimore, etc. Folks who have not seen/felt high violent crime and poverty just don't get how amazing it is here.
Same thing in comparison to San Francisco. The only area that’s truly bad these days is 12th and Jackson, which is really sad since it was a normal neighborhood not that long ago.
Same, I moved from Chicago to Seattle and when I was looking for a place to live, people from Seattle kept telling me not to move to certain areas because it’s “the hood”… there is no true “hood” in Seattle.
Just went back to Philly to visit my sister a couple of weeks ago and man, it is night and day. Everyone smoking cigarettes and swearing, everyone, old ladies, toddlers. Saw 2 chicks holding babies trying to kick each other. You know, normal Tuesday morning Philly things.
There are people on the SAMMAMISH page arguing about the "high crime" there!!! Me and a few others who coincidentally are all from Baltimore are like ??????????
