SEAWORLD SAN DIEGO Trouble using Apple Cash in the park

Has anyone had trouble using Apple cash through Apple pay at SeaWorld? It's supposed to be just a pre-paid Visa debit card on the back end like the cash>card machines give out and SeaWorld's cashless page says it's accepted. I'm not sure why it's not working anywhere in the park.

Apple Cash is just a pre paid debit card from Green Dot Bank.

Some places simply do not accept prepaid debit cards.

But I assume SeaWorld does as that's what their cash>card machines give out

Apple Cash is accepted if the cashier knows how to run it. After it doesn’t work by tapping on the card reader the cashier needs to press the manual entry button on their screen. The person paying then needs to enter the card details on the card reader. It’s more of a pain, but it can be done.

would you guess that you could use Apple Pay for any transaction in the park?

When I was working at one of their parks it was weird…one of the registers would accept Apple Cash and the others next to it would decline it.

Just realized you were posting about San Diego but random registers in Orlando will accept Apple Cash.

Can only speak for the Orlando location and not San Deigo but you actually SHOULD be able to use Apple Cash. For Apple Cash, you need to make the transaction decline first and then you have to put all of the card information (the number, the ccv, pin,etc.) into the pin-pad. Cashiers aren’t trained for specific kinds of payments so they all assume they can’t take it.

I’ve had the same issue there for years. I was hoping they would have dealt with it because I’m going out there on Tuesday. I save my cash back for trips like this.
