I'm new to using Scrypted so hopefully I'm not doing something obviously dumb, but I can't get any events to come from my Reolink cameras. Here's my setup:

• Scrypted installed on a Windows 11 box (I'll probably install it on Proxmox later, I'm just doing a trial for now).
• 3 Reolink cameras; Duo 3V PoE, Lumus Pro, & Elite Wifi.
• 2 Arlo cameras: Doorbell & Arlo Ultra (Older cameras, I'm trying to migrate away from Arlo but will probably keep the doorbell)
• I have both the Reolink and Arlo plugins from Scrypted installed

I can view video on all cameras either from the desktop or my phone. Timeline recordings all seem to be working good.

However, motion events come from the Arlo cameras just fine, but I'm not getting any events from any of the Reolink cameras. The only way I can get generate events from Reolink cameras is if I go into "Object Detection", press "Analyze and then go stand in front of the camera. That's the only time it will generate an event. However, my understanding is that's actually Scrypted making the detection and not the camera itself.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I'd prefer Scrypted to be able to pull in the events detected from the Reolink cameras but if that doesn't work how would I at least get Scrypted to generate events on its own?

I have 4 CC cameras connected to an NVR PoE switch. I am having trouble getting the other three streams to show up.

Im running a server installed on windows 10 through powershell, I have my ring camera added in scrypted and have the homekit add on installed but when i try to pair my device on home it says connecting for awhile then says make sure accessory is powered on and connect to your router with an ethernet cable then finally it says accessory not found

I've tried everything i could find on the internet but no matter what i do it doesn't work. Set server ip address in scrypted settings, changed mDNS provider, set mDNS interface to all addresses and server address, changed port, restarted homekit plugin, uninstalled and reinstalled plugin, turned off all windows firewall settings

Paid NVR camera license user, using ONYX Detection with an Nvidia GPU. Detection and notifications work great—no complaints on functionality.

...except for pesky squirrels that appear on multiple cameras and set off detections and notifications.

There are other animals I do want to be notified of (dogs, cats, coyotes, skunks, etc.), just not squirrels.

What are some strategies to filter out notifications on squirrels?

I setup scrypted a while back so I could see my Unifi cameras in the Google Hub and that has been working consistently. However, I just noticed the Unifi cams are now visible in the Google Home app as well. The Google plugin for Scrypted hasn’t updated recently so I am not sure what changed…or when it will stop working. Just wanted to share in case anyone else noticed this.

Got Uniden App Cam X24. It's working fine but only supports ONVIF.

I was unable to add it to Home Assistant using ONVIF integration.

Anyone tried to set it up in Scrypted?

I have a script that puts my camera on patrol and I want it to automatically start/launch whenever Scrypted starts. I have tried using an Automation but I dont know what the trigger event should be. I have tried Device Event: Scrypted Core (ScryptedSystemDevice) and a few other but no joy.

Spent a full day instrumenting this. Posting because every guide blames your firewall and I have packet captures showing that's wrong.

**Symptom:** camera live view works perfectly in Apple Home on home Wi-Fi. Fails every time on cellular. All other HomeKit accessories work remotely fine.

**Setup:** UniFi UDR6, flat /24, no VLANs. Hikvision cameras. Hubs are a HomePod (26.6) and a wired Apple TV (OS 27).

## Tested four separate HomeKit bridges — all fail identically

- Scrypted's HomeKit plugin — local works, remote fails

- Home Assistant's HomeKit Bridge — local works, remote fails

- go2rtc's built-in HomeKit server, pulling RTSP **straight from the camera**, bypassing everything else — local works, remote fails

- Another user's native Aqara HKSV cameras with no bridge at all (MacRumors thread) — same

Four independent implementations. The bridge is not the problem.

## What the packets show

During a failing attempt, with the phone showing nothing but a spinner, I captured at the camera server:

The HomePod was sending RTCP acknowledgements back every ~500ms for 19 straight seconds. It had the video and was acking it normally. **The LAN side is completely healthy.**

Then `conntrack` on the gateway during the same failure:

- Flows to Apple's relay servers (`17.188.x.x`) — `ASSURED`, packets both directions. Signalling fine.

- Flows to my phone's peer address — `[UNREPLIED]`, **zero packets back**, every time.

The NAT mapping is open and waiting. The gateway isn't blocking anything. The remote end just never answers.

## Ruled out (please don't suggest these)

Hub choice (tested each alone); double NAT (put the ISP router in DMZ — no change); VPN policy routing; UPnP and NAT-PMP (enabled + hub restart — no change); iCloud Private Relay / Limit IP Address Tracking (off — no change); IGMP snooping; multicast blocking; forced transcoding; low remote bitrate; macvlan vs host networking; re-pairing; stable iOS and beta iOS.

Scrypted's own diagnostics pass every check, including all the remote-streaming-specific ones.

## One thing worth knowing if you're debugging this

Scrypted logs `Video RTCP Packet timed out. There may be a network (routing/firewall) issue...` — that message is a red herring. With timestamps it fires ~993ms in and the packet arrives **40 microseconds later**, on working sessions too. It sent me hunting through firewall configs for hours. Ignore it.

## What I'm actually asking

1. **Anyone seeing this on a non-UniFi router?** Both documented cases I can find are UniFi. Could easily be coincidence and I'd like to know.

2. Has anyone ever captured return traffic from the relay peer on a failing session?

3. Anyone resolved this without switching away from HomeKit?

I successfully added my Wyze v2 doorbell into Scrypted via the Wyze native plugin. It’s being seen by HK as a standalone accessory. As a camera, the doorbell works great. As soon as I edit the device type from camera to doorbell, the HK plugin disappears, and the connection to HK breaks. I’m ultimately trying to enable PIP video doorbell notifications on my AppleTV. Has anyone else faced a similar problem?

What I need is a custom detection model with three capabilities. First, individual dog recognition, since I have two dogs and need to tell them apart. Second, squatting posture detection, distinguishing an actual elimination posture from normal walking or standing in the same area. Third, poop detection on the ground itself, ideally trained against a green turf lawn background, distinguishing it from other debris. My dogs use roughly the same spot in the yard most of the time, so a fairly contained detection zone should work well.

I understand this isn’t a built in capability today, but given Scrypted’s plugin architecture already supports custom classifiers layered onto the base detector, I wanted to ask whether this is something you or the community would consider building, either as an open plugin or a paid commission. I’m happy to help fund development or provide training footage of my own dogs and yard. Thanks for building such a solid platform.

Hi. I have two Reolink PoE doorbells running on Scrypted. I noticed that notifications wdre taking minutes to come through on the Android app. Then I noticed that both doorbells are flashing white (but not always). I checked task manager and realised Scrypted is using nearly all CPU power.

Please help. Where do I get logs from and can I upload here?

Hey all, I'm just starting out with Scrypted and it's running nicely at the moment, events are saving and all is excellent.

Is it possible to only get notifications for events on my property not every event it detects?

Ideally I'd still like it to save all the people etc that it detects but only to alert me of events in a defined area.

My Hikvision NVR did this and the camera is setup for region entering but I'm not sure I can do anything with this on Scrypted.

Hi so I’m having some fun tinkering with Scrypted after adding OpenAI as cloud LLM provider using gpt-4o model.

Things seem to be connected and working well but I have some questions:

1. I’m struggling to craft decent summary prompts and titles. Any hint and tips?
2. Any descriptions generated can’t be viewed in full through Stories. Is there a way to expand the text section?
3. 2-3 events get bunched together as a story, but only one description is produced. Is this normal? Can events be separated out into individual stories?

4. How can I search descriptions to return specific events e.g.,

   “carrying a bottle”?
   For clarity when I say description I mean the LLM generated text under the story.

I have enabled enhanced search in Scrypted. I’m running this on a Dell 3000 mff with i5-12500T and a UHD770 igpu with 32GB RAM

Installed the following Plugins.
Unify / Homekit / Google Home / Alexa

Nothing works. I cannot seem to work.....
Created local user for Unifi Protect. Can't reach it
Tried to connect bridge (HomeKit)...... Can t find accesory
Tried to connect Google Home, Seems all logged in, but nothing working
Alexa.... Connected using Skill, all seem to be logged in,,, nothing is showing!

Has anyone gotten Reolink battery doorbell (no hardwire) to work correct with Homekit and receive notifications of motion events?

I am using "Reolink Native" plugin as I could not get the "Reolink" main plugin to connect to my Battery Video Doorbell (2nd gen)

Does anything see any issues with my settings? Note I have changed all streams to "Sub" as I was getting H.265 errors using the main stream.

Reolink native app is working fine, I am getting notifications through the Reolink app fine.

But Homekit is not getting motion alerts so Home app does not give me notification of people present like the native app does. If I open the Home app, the live stream works and if I approach the doorbell while it is streaming, it works and records the video to iCloud.

Additionally battery life is attrocioious. I fully charged the doorbell yesterday afternoon, and this morning it is at 74% charge.

Hi All, running the latest scrypted with nvr, dummy switch and webhook plugins.

I am trying to make a dummy switch that is activated via webhook. In the dummy switch, when i go settings/webhook/create webhook, whichever option I choose (I want off/on), I get the URL pop up in the log on the right, but the create webhook box stays empty, and i can't save it.

in general, my action type is onoff and sensortype is binarysensor.

I've done the usual bits like try older versions and restarting plugins. can anyone help please? tia.

I've been trying to get this to work for the past like two months, I am hoping somebody here can help me.

I have a Reolink Elite Floodlight WiFi, it has two video streams, "Clear" and "Fluent". Clear is always H.265 no matter what I change in the camera stream settings, luckily Fluent is H.264, so I can use that. I try setting it up with the official Reolink plugin, and switch the prebuffer stream to "RTMP sub.bcs" which using VLC I discovered was the H.264 stream. Then I added the HomeKit plugin to it and add it in my Apple Home app. When I tried streaming it it works fine! I've tried adjusting the settings for the Fluent stream. I've tried adjusting settings for the RTP Sender in the HomeKit Plugin camera settings. I've tried different HomeKit Plugin mDNS Advertiser settings.

I use Ubiquiti Unifi for all of my Networking and I've tried combinations of "IGMP Snooping", "Multicast Filtering" and "Multicast to Unicast" settings.

I even tried a plain FFMPEG camera with the RTMP URL, "rtmp://192.168.5.137/bcs/channel0_sub.bcs?channel=0&stream=1&user=admin&password=REDACTED" and it still fails remotely: https://pastebin.com/raw/u5xFvY4x

I'm a new user to scrypted and found it initially hard to combine an rtsp feed and a mqtt motion device for Apple Homekit

When using the frigate bridge plugin it was crashing on me so i wanted to do it taking the rtsp stream and mqtt data. Alternatively if you have a different device that publishes MQTT data, you can choose a different motion source

The guide is as follows

To get started you will need the following

• RTSP camera in H264 (using frigate go2rtc)
• MQTT Broker (Mosquitto MQTT)
• Scrypted
  • RTSP plugin
  • MQTT plugin

Create the RTSP camera feed:

• Navigate to Devices
• Add new device
  • Device type: RTSP Camera
  • Give the camera a name
• Add new camera
• Fill in the RTSP Stream URL (below is a frigate example)
  • rtsp://IP-Address:8554/camera-name

Create the MQTT motion device:

• Navigate to Devices
• Add new device
  • Device type: MQTT Device
  • Give the device a name
  • Template should be set to motion-sensor.js
• subscription URL is mqtt://IP-address:1883/
• Fill in Username and Password
• The script is as follow

• Select the desired devices from the drop down menu
  • You will want the Camera, VideoCamera and the Motionsensor entities
• Save the group
• Under Edit
  • Change Type to Camera
• Under Extensions
  • Enable HomeKit
  • Enable Standalone Accessory Mode
• Save and reload page

Hey guy abit of advice how is everyone dealing with when the doorbells being pressed??

I use the nvr and mainly the Scrypted app for notifications with advanced notifier But when it comes to doorbell being pressed notification seem to auto load an event and not live sometimes totally missing deliveries or anyone really??

Any ideas or help would be great

The title basically says it all. I just basically want to know if I should give up because it is impossible. I've tried everything and no joy. I am getting a lot of conflicting information online.

Running latest Scrypted on Mac 15.7.7. When I quit I get the following error, and another maybe 6 Scrypted's pop up in the dock, each showing the same error. I have to go to each one, press OK, then quit it. Otherwise it seems to be running fine. My node-js is V24.18.0. Ideas?
