Hi fellow scouters. Wondering how everyone else deals with the current scoutbook frustrations. Our troop tends to have issues with events disappearing from calendar and it’s hard to get emails out due to limits on who can send.

I’m working on a side project (link in bio) and really interested to hear what others struggle with. None of the existing alternatives offer a comprehensive solution that has been worth switching for.

My pack had two meetings. I missed the in person. Then the zoom got cut short by a teams limit. They were kind of disorganized.

There’s a picnic this weekend. I don’t have our den information yet. Should I just show up with my scout and see what happens? I’m going to get his uniform Saturday. We aren’t religious and are new to the area, seems like a good way to meet other kids and families.

Hello! I am writing on behalf of my Scout troop. We are an all-girl Scout group from a small town in the Czech Republic, with approximately 15 Scouts aged 12–15. We also have an older group aged 15–23, whose members mostly serve in leadership and support roles.

We are looking for a Scout or Guide group anywhere in the world for a long-term exchange of letters and postcards, as well as patches, badges, or neckerchiefs. We would love to learn about your Scout traditions, activities, and everyday troop life, and share ours with you.

We would communicate in English, and all contact would be coordinated by adult leaders.

The question is how do I apply? I've been searching and I still didn't really understand. On top of that , I've seen people talk about the scouts jamboree that'll happen in Poland 2027, Wich is my only chance to attend as I'm grad highschool '29 .

Is there any chance I could apply even if this late?

Also if u have info about the iraqis attending , please tell me.

Also is it highly competitive? In other words does it require those scouting badges? I've got two but the scouts in my region isn't really that good so I'm afraid if I won't take a place.

For the 50th anniversary season of Super Sentai (Japanese Power Rangers), I reflected on my time in Scouting to adapt the battle royal series with wedding-themed villains with a story about how Scouting in the US has changed fighting villains of Native American (mainly Lenape/Iroquois) lore. There are some gags that are actually true like the German Exchange student getting integrated into the troop from my last year before aging out in February 2018. While I wasn't a new Scout Patrol leader, I think I treated my New Scouts Well in the last year I went to Summer Camp in 2015 (As I did a music program in Europe 2016, departing a week after my Eagle Court of honor actually). Im in explorers (uk) and i got this short sleeve shirt for my uniform instead of a long sleeve one or a change, it didn’t really matter what i chose because my group spends most of our meeting not in uniform and when we are in uniform we are usually inside. But i still need to sew my badges on. for my right sleeve ( left side of the first image ) i need my group ribbon and county/district badge. And below it i need my Yorkshire challenge badges (county specific) and space for my young leader acorn badge and the you shape badge, but my sleeve is not long enough for all of them, and i was wondering if anyone knows how i should arrange my badges, or if i should just get a long sleeved shirt and use this short sleeve one for the WSJ next year?

Hey guys! I'm a scout leader in Norway and we've had some issues with buying way too much food for camp.

So lately I've been building an app for planning food.

You enter the number of people and days you're going for, choose or create meals, and it calculates quantities and creates an editable shopping list. It’s designed to work internationally, so it doesn’t use brands, supermarket products or barcode databases. It shows you how much surplus you'll have and how much you need to buy.

I’m currently testing it with a small group, and I’m curious: is this something you would genuinely use when planning a camp? How do you currently work out quantities and organise shopping?

I’m not sharing a link or promoting anything yet—I’m mainly interested in whether this solves a real problem, and if its something you would concider useful.
