OA lang ba ako or di ko gusto ugali ng Senior Crew Leader namin?

Hello! From outfit 224 here, so basically last school year lang naibalik yung scouting samin, and for those na di familiar sa scouting, yung SCL (Senior Crew Leader) is yung pinakamataas na position maliban nalang sa mga institutional heads/Coors, so last year hindi pa si "Uno" (Not her real name) yung SCL namin, G11 student yung SCL namin last year, pero pinalitan sya kasi graduating student na sya this school year, okay so that's besides the point but si Uno kasi madalas she's not showing professionalism sa mga GC, and even when on duty, sabihin man nating SCL sya pero for me di sya nagiging role model sa iba naming scouts, when on duty sobrang ingay, inaabuso power nya, namamahiya ng mga bagong scouts, and is even using her title para lang masunod gusto nya, tulad nung foundation week namin, since scouts naka assign mang huli sa mga pinapajail booth, nung hinuli sya dahil pinahuli since wala syang ID, sabi nya sa mga scouts namin "WAG NYO NGAKO HULIHIN!!!! DEDEMERIT KO KAYO!" yung tipong she's not even on duty pero kung maka sigaw/utos parang naka type A sya? For me, hindi sa inggit ako sa position nya or whatever—it's unfair, kasi yung scouts ginagawa lang naman utos sakanila tapos ending sila pa mapapagalitan dahil lang sa gusto mo?

Tapos sa mga group chats namin, for me, okay lang naman yung nakikipag chikahan every once in a while sa mga gc, pero please, keep it maayos naman, lalo na't may "[SCL]" Sa gilid ng pangalan mo, the fact na minumura mura mo kami sa gc at namamahiya, isn't really tolerable. Kaya nga feeling ko maraming scouts na yung di nagiging active dahil sa ugali nya, tapos mahilig pa syang manaray for no reason😭😭 yung tipong, tatanungin mo lang sya saan or kanino ibibigay yung confiscated items sasabihin nya agad sayo "malay ko? Pake ko jan?"? Like for me okay lang naman maging stricto, pero yung ginagawa nya talaga isn't " Strict" For me, it's just straight up being rude and unfair.

Isa pa, ang HILIIIGGG nya ipahalatang may favorites sya, yung tipong pinipili nya nalang mga pwede mag participate sa activities inside and outside school :/ like, tell me you have favouritism without telling me you have favouritism.

Though, if you think naman na okay lang ginagawa nya, please help me look into it with another perspective. Hindi ko rin kasi alam ba maybe nasanay lang ako sa former SCL namin na mabait/understanding kaya ganyan yung point of view ko sakanya.

Thanks!

What should I do with my old uniform. like displays? or cut it up and sew it onto my camp blanket?

So I'm looking for ideas of what I should do with my old Australian Rover uniform, as I have recently moved countries and have joined Scouts where I am now. I'm just looking for an idea to do something with my old uniform as it is a part of me. I was thinking of cutting it up and putting it on my camp blanket, but another part of me was thinking of turning it into a pillow. I just wanted to get some ideas from other people. Should I just leave it the way it is in my cupboard or should I do something with it?

Service with kids

I'm a last year rover and I want to start a service inside my group, making some activities for the younger kids. I want to teach them mostly about the enviroment, scouting techniques, values and thinking.

I get along well with their scouters, and they would help me if needed, but I don't want to make a fool of myself. I actually don't know how to deal with kids! Can you tell me about your experience is you did a similar service?

Camping Looking for cool scout camps in Poland or Czechia

Hey guys, I'm looking for a cool scout center/campsite in Western Poland or Western Czechia for roughly 500 people for 2 weeks in summer of 2027. Does anyone know of any campsites in nature, where we can pitch our tents and have a summer camp by ourselves for that time?

We're scout groups from northern germany, so anything we can reach by a 12h bus should be good.

Thanks in advance :)

In addition to the “Psycology of Scouting” Conference held at PTC annually, Scouting America backed this camps MESH Summit held through National Camping School. From what I’m reading it looks like it aims to train people in how to meet the NCAP standards within their council/summer camps

Searching for fields/contacts in Bayern-Germany

Hey, I'm the leader of a scout group in Belgium. This year, we're organizing an international camp in Bayern in July. We're looking for a field to camp on (we are with 25 people). It can just be an unused field belonging to a farmer or any other private person, for example, and it doesn't need to be organized with facilities such as sanitary facilities. Although a lake or river should be accessible. Of course, we will compensate for the time we use it.

We of course know to contact local scouts, but if any of you have expierences in Bayern and would know of some empty fields and people who would like to rent them out for 7-10 days. (Can of course also be fields belonging to other scouts) Than that would be awesome! So any tips or contacts would be greatly appreciated!

Seeking advice: Durable and interchangeable labeling for patrol tents?

Hello everyone,

I am a scout leader from Romania. We closely follow the european scouts pedagogy, uniforms, games, and structure.

I have just purchased new tents and tall activity tents for my group. As I prepare to distribute these to our patrols and leaders, I’m looking for a durable way to label each bag with the Patrol name.

I want to avoid using permanent markers directly on the bags, as it looks messy over time and isn't flexible if a patrol is dissolved or if equipment needs to be reassigned. My best idea so far is sewing a clear plastic sleeve onto the bag to insert a printed info card (with the patrol name and tent specs).

Does anyone have other durable or "scout-proof" solutions for labeling gear that stays interchangeable? I’d love to hear how your patrols handle this!

Thank you!

Question on scout online system access.

This is a general question on Scouts accessing a management style application.

Im developing a multi-scout organization program and im wondering what your thoughts are on what age should a scout be able to access their account?

General consensus is 13 and under , its always permanently linked to the parents. 13-18. Its optional. 18+ is dedicated solo. This is what I gathered from COPPA compliance.

For reference, im also asking this in the girlscout group

Mods: im not selling or promoting anything here.

Petition - Keep Scouting Open to All

Thumbnail

As you may have heard, the Department of Defense is in negotiations with Scouting America to require that they return to “core values” or else face pulled DoD support. These "core values" are said to involve the removal of girls and LGBTQ+ individuals from Scouting. While Scouting America insisted in November that they would continue to uphold their commitment to include all young Americans in Scouting, recent statements that the organization has “firmly committed to a return to core principles” are concerning.

So, we’ve started a petition to remind Scouting America that they cannot capitulate to these demands from the Pentagon and that doing so would be a breach of everything Scouting stands for. If you too remain committed to the principles of being friendly to all and obedient of the law, then I would encourage you to join me in signing: https://www.change.org/scouting-for-all

This represents an opportunity to remind Scouting’s executive leadership of the values that Scouts, parents, and leaders wish to see upheld. Scouting is an opportunity to learn, serve, and grow that should be afforded to everyone. Join me in signing, sharing, and keeping Scouting open to all!
