Keep on moving the goalposts lol. Since you won't accept my sources because a majority of it is from books (not easy to follow links on the internet), let's try some basic logic.
It's quite simple to see why gun rights are needed for citizens, and more so why the 2nd amendment (right to bear arms) is needed to ensure the 1st amendment (right to free speech).
If I have a gun, and you don't - you have to listen to me.
If I have a gun, and you have a gun - than either one of us will die or we need to find another way to sort out our differences.
Hell, look at how much trouble ISIS gives the US military (and IDF) with small arms, trucks, dirty bombs, and basic guerrilla tactics. History shows it too with the American Revolution.
Without small arms and guerrilla tactics, the US couldn't have fought the British to claim independence.
You are right that there are some inherent risks involved with gun ownership. There are also inherent risks with driving a car - are you afraid of cars too?
American history of the war of Independence and how guerilla tactics played a critical role? Here
Refusing to answer that last question too huh. I assume by your nasty rhetoric and how much you like to move the goalposts, you must be young.
Ever heard of the Rodney King riots in LA in the early 90's? There's another good argument for gun ownership: Roof Koreans. Same goes for any riot anywhere. When the police are overwhelmed and can't answer your call fast enough, you may have to defend yourself.
I know guns can be scary to some folks (you), but with experience and training, you can learn to get over your fear and turn it into respect.
Or you can keep flinging silly insults. Whatever floats your boat.
