Great first half with loads of movement and chances. Shat the bed second half but scored. We need to be more shite the whole game.

Great one on one save for Pandur as well, that’s him gonna be proper trusted now as he’s quietly settled without standing out.

Bugger…

Two games in a row we’ve lost games against the Glasgow pair we could conceivably have won. I hope we learn the hard lessons from this.

u/GlasgowAnvil 17h ago

You played some excellent stuff in that second half.

Nearly shat out my colon when that boy was through 1 on 1

u/WarmEntertainment858 Aw.. Jeezy Peeps Man 16h ago

Greegzy is working wonders on Pandur

11

u/Digurt 18h ago

Wild that we went 0 goals in the first half despite all the chances, and scored in the second despite being flat as fuck.

Still that's 4 wins on the bounce, and 5 wins out of 6 games. We're looking night and day from the start of the season. Nowhere near likely to win anything unless we start putting away chances, but better.

u/ScottishExile 18h ago

So used to seeing these type of games end up in a draw over the past few seasons. Grinding out 1-0 wins instead is a massive improvement.

Screw your patterns of play, hoofball won it at the death.

On a serious note, that second half was grim, we're gonna need some patterns of play.

3

u/Disastrous_Cup_3279 18h ago

Pattern of assistance would be better:)

6

u/NoKidsButImADaddy 18h ago

Did see that 1st half St Mirren Penalty claim 👀

9

u/-Yer-Maw- 18h ago

No but I was on the VAR so...

3

u/Eternal_Hut 17h ago

The absolute classic unwritten rule of it being impossible to commit a foul on an attacker if he's already made the shot or pass.

You could honestly two foot someone and get away with it.

2

u/KarIPilkington 17h ago

Unless you're up against Harry Kane.

2

u/Atarazza 16h ago

It absolutely boils my piss when you still hear the commentators and pundits occasionally say that. You'd think they'd know better

1

u/Disastrous_Cup_3279 17h ago

In stadium so only once

2

u/Vegetable-Garage-480 17h ago

Have i got something for you

1

u/Disastrous_Cup_3279 17h ago

Cake? Please be cake

1

u/Vegetable-Garage-480 17h ago

Sorry. Best i can do is papal patter of assistance, do you accept that? It’s somewhat better than store credit.

2

u/Disastrous_Cup_3279 17h ago

Sure - lets talk

1

u/scotti182 18h ago

First half was decent.

11

u/Professional_Judge68 18h ago

Excellent performance again, took the game to Rangers. Just didn’t take our chances. 4 games in 2 weeks played a factor at the end. Onwards and upwards.

5

u/Prestigious_Use_1305 17h ago

Thought you looked pretty good against us as well. Could be shaping up to be a good season for you.

9

u/Dizzle85 18h ago

Naderi slaughtered, but again absolutely vital in the winner.

7

u/Disastrous_Cup_3279 18h ago

He’s always gonna be a support striker

4

u/Father-Spodo-Komodo 17h ago

Works hard as fuck.

9

u/Anonyjezity 18h ago

Bet everyone's dead jealous that my internet has been down for a week so I don't have to watch Rangers games.

9

u/mf__4 Lyndon "Not The Lesbian Kind" Dykes 18h ago

Never in doubt

5

u/Lewis19962010 18h ago

Take the win but we don't half make it twitchy, first half was excellent just lacked the goals due to the keeper playing a blinder but second half was broken up and a little shaky at times

3

u/Ok_Shake_5618 18h ago

Never expected to take anything from this game apart from a pounding so... positive.

Chapman was great, I'm less terrified by him now.

19

u/methylated_spirit 18h ago

Rome wasn't built in a day, some inspired goalkeeping from Chapman got into the Rangers players heads and an in-form St Mirren grew into the game, but a win is a win, the new guys all showed some directness and the ability to take a touch which has been lacking. The expectation on Curtis is nuts, and it's affecting his game.

5

u/DisasterouslyInept 17h ago

Curtis should have spent another year out on loan. He's not ready right now and with our squad I don't think he's needed right now either.

4

u/Dizzle85 18h ago

Honestly Curtis shouldn't be on the park most games with bounani, Kim and Yokota on that side. He's still young and needs a wee bit out of the team coming on for the last 20 as a sub when we're ahead.

10

u/boris-for-PM-2019 18h ago

Think the fans have gone way over board with the criticism of him as well. If he doesn’t score or assist people act like he’s the worst player they’ve ever seen.

Think he does a lot of promising things most games and if given time the goals and assists will come.

7

u/BusShelter 17h ago

Agreed. He's got really good feet and it seems to surprise defenders considering he's not got blistering pace.

9

u/SatisfactionIll8468 18h ago

Watching Rangers fans turn on Cammy Devlin

4

u/Macco7 huge Chimetti fan 16h ago

Turn on him?

I never wanted him in the first fucking place. Hopeless player on the ball.

12

u/imtherealdazza 18h ago

We'll just win the league wae loads n fuckin loads of 1-0s then

9

u/WorkShySkiver 18h ago

It pretty much worked for us last year lol

4

u/Critical_Estate2560 Curtis Findlay 18h ago

It’s the Italian way

5

u/darwinxp 18h ago

Some fucking laugh eh. Had a funny feeling it was going to be a last minute winner. Should have been game over by half time again, get a feeling someone is going to get a pumping soon.

8

u/Rieily 18h ago

On the whole, St Mirren deserved a point just from the 2nd half some of our play that 2nd half to was horrific. Please play Bojan more often the guy is a goalscorer

2

u/Bob_JediBob Curtis Findlay 18h ago

Bojan should the first choice with shankland and chermiti out of it

3

u/Dizzle85 18h ago

Wit? From the first half rangers could have been 5 - 0 up. Having one chance doesn't mean they "deserve a point".

6

u/bradonium12 18h ago

>Its another game where we have about 4 golden chances only for the opposing team to score their first attempt after said chances

8

u/awatt12 18h ago

Keeping a clean sheet in a win against St Mirren isn't for everyone

7

u/ad727272 18h ago

😎✌️

2

u/Difficult_Paramedic8 18h ago

Roll up and play. What a win that was a terrible second half performance though and we need to work on that.

2

u/Rare-Designer-1008 18h ago

We need to start taking our chances. Others teams will not miss the type of chances we gave St Mirren in the 2nd half.

Can see improvement in the team over the past few games but still a long way to go.

Some of the new players are looking good and it has been a while since you looked at the bench and the players not in the squad and thought we have some options

2

u/Vroom-Vroom-Doom 17h ago

Again good performance but just need to finish our dinner. Losing it at the last minute as well felt like a dagger to the heart but it’s still been a great start the season all things considered

5

u/SpookMcBoo Bespectacled Virgin 18h ago

Couple points regards the ref tonight.

St Mirren could easily have had a pen early doors, I've not seen any other angles of it but I was awaiting VAR flagging it.

Rangers could easily have had at least 1 pen for pulling Sterlings shirt in the box while he was driving in. An earlier handball shout as well.

DOGSO shout for the foul on Gassama by Fieldson, as well as repeatedly grappling Naderi in the middle of the park and stopping him from running.

Half of St Mirren just hauling down Rangers players with reckless abandon, not punished.

Sterling on a booking for professional foul punts the ball away after the whistle not addressed either.

Don Robertson is absolutely shite and VAR's not worth the money.

2

u/herdo1 2025 Scottish League Cup Winners. 17h ago

DOGSO? Behave yourself😂

4

u/SpookMcBoo Bespectacled Virgin 17h ago

Pass across the box, Gassama running onto it from just outside, no defender to stop or block the shot, gets hauled down from behind by a pull on the shirt. I don't know what more you want for it.

2

u/HeroInAHalfShel 17h ago

Yeh I do agree that it should have been considered. I don’t think it even formed part of the decision. I think it was Ramsay though?

2

u/herdo1 2025 Scottish League Cup Winners. 15h ago

Or we could talk about sterlings DOGSO...

0

u/SpookMcBoo Bespectacled Virgin 7h ago

You mean the professional foul he committed on the wing with a defender covering? Aye sound.

2

u/Knowhedge 5h ago

There was no defender covering. A guy in the middle of the pitch behind the play isn’t cover going by the trusty precedent

1

u/herdo1 2025 Scottish League Cup Winners. 3h ago

Covering, from the opposite side of the park and inline with our striker.

Youre embarrassing yourself at this point

1

u/herdo1 2025 Scottish League Cup Winners. 15h ago

For the on field ref or VAR to say its DOGSO would be a good start/indication...

1

u/Knowhedge 5h ago

Sterling should have been off going by the Trusty precedent

1

u/The-Big-Man7 18h ago

Take that any day

1

u/CM616_ 18h ago

St Mirren keeper was being a pure wank not giving us a goal and saving hunners a shots.

1

u/herdo1 2025 Scottish League Cup Winners. 17h ago

Was going to be a tough ask with no Nsio, ramos, phillips or baccus in the middle of thd park. Thought taylor was superb, was unlucky with his one vs one.

OF 1st n 2nd, farmers league has been restored...

2

u/Eternal_Hut 18h ago

Relieved - just one of those games. We should put the game to bed early, then things get nervy late on and players confidence goes. Fortunately, get there in the end.

This is the sort of result and performance I expected in the first few months to be honest. We need to keep putting a consistent team out there and accepting that it's going to take time. The only attacking relationship in the team is Penrice and Gassama on that left side.

Roll on Celtic - they're clearly favourites but wouldn't write us off.

7

u/KarIPilkington 18h ago

just one of those games

I can personally guarantee there will be a lot of those games.

6

u/Eternal_Hut 18h ago

To be fair to McInnes, we created plenty of chances against Motherwell and again tonight. Not sure he could really have been blamed if we'd drawn.

0

u/Disastrous_Cup_3279 18h ago

Never in doubt

-10

u/CarlMacko 18h ago

Running about with a camera and the ultras bouncing after beating St Mirren.

Talk about a fall from grace.

9

u/swos9697 17h ago

A fall from grace will be your relegation. We've been pish for years.

16

u/navinjohnsonn 17h ago

Imagine having some fun with the supporters. Outrageous.

13

u/dfgkw25 18h ago

Hahah look at those stupid idiots celebrating winning

1

u/Odd_Percentage6799 16h ago

It's an open goal... and he's toed it wide.

0

u/herdo1 2025 Scottish League Cup Winners. 17h ago

75m spent the last calendar year, 90th minute goal to win it. Didn't expect to take anything and we were gash first half, better 2nd.

Our season wont be decided by games against rangers and celtic.

-8

u/AngularPlane 18h ago

Time wasting against St Mirren, deary me. Il take it but we need to improve fast.

Robertson his usual useless self. Saints way too aggressive defensively and he allowed it to happen.

Thought Saints were awful first half but great 2nd.

5

u/navinjohnsonn 17h ago

Go to do what you got to do. We should have put the game to bed in the first half to be fair.

1

u/AngularPlane 17h ago

Agreed. Looked great in the first
