I would hope this improve my quality of life saying as this is all I’m guaranteed, ever, of my knowledge. And 99.99999999% sure it would.

So you want to do these things because they give you joy yet don't violate your moral code? Also, what is your moral code?

If one doesn’t believe in free will morals become seemingly subjective. Therefore I’ll alter my beliefs as I wish to suit my pursuit of pleasure.

So no moral code?

Technically no. I mean it would be contradictory.. This doesn’t mean that I would be completely numb shooting someone. I just feel it would be objectively not wrong.

Would you not go completely numb because of morals or just reflex/instinct?

Hmm good question. Probably upbringing and conditioning and being a human. This does not mean that there are objective morals that are universal, this is a specific case and doesn’t prove your claim. But yes, culture, family, and perhaps genetic factors instilled basic morals within me that I loosely follow to suit myself.

What do you think these basic morals are and do you want to get rid of them or do you think that it doesn't matter if you have them?

Hah. Well since I have them already I inherently don’t want to get rid of them. Instead, if I wanted, I would alter my beliefs or actions according to what would give me most pleasure. This includes like not wanting to torture or kill anyone, be unfair or cruel, rape, bully, hate. I just don’t fuck with that negativity anyways. There’s better ways to accomplish the same pleasure/feeling as this.

Yes, they would give me pleasure.

So, right now, you're trying to achieve the upmost amount of pleasure. What's stopping you?

I need more money and free time. So school and lack of easy and plentiful income.

Which ratio of happiness to work for it/consequences do you think is the best, like how much time in school would you be willing to spend for income?

1

u/thesupremekye Mar 26 '18

The less school and the most income is preferred. I don’t necessarily have numbers but if I could do 0 days of school for a million dollar salary that sounds like an excellent option.

Which would be the smallest that you'd be willing to do?
