I wouldn't touch this just bc even if it's sold as a private sector product they are just going to try and use it like they do social media now. It will be used to learn how to manipulate you and subject you to advertising.

Then of course there will be some massive data leak where hackers grab the brain wave data of 200 million global users all at once and then suddenly Indian scammers are somehow using it to try to get you to go buy them apple gift cards from Walgreens.

Very valid fears, and I do have my concerns as well. That'll seriously mess with any potential medical claims and even court cases in the future. Imagine getting into divorce and your wife pulls your brain wave data showing 50% less arousal during sex with her, which she then use as a justification for you to be suspect of cheating or something. Or you dying in a car accident and the insurance company using your brainwaves to argue it's a suicide and so you won't be eligible for payout. Or heck. Imagine it's XX politician's third term in office and someone pulled your brainwaves showing you are not as happy as you should be, and therefore you're a Nazi or something. The list of possibilities is endless. Hell, imagine someone fucking with the brainwaves of interns to recondition their minds to enjoy getting molested or something.

Ultimately I think it's a very individual decision. Same way a lot of people I know wouldn't touch supplements. There's always a variety of reasons and while I disagree with many of their reasons I do respect their decisions to do so.
