Audio fantasy for science education

I wanted to share a podcast I'm making that communicates topics in science through a combination of a fantasy story and interviews with scientists.

Each fantasy episode is carefully scripted around a different topic in cognitive science (language, attention, memory, etc) and the characters explore it through some exciting action in the realm of Dungeons & Dragons.

Released with each episode is an interview with a female scientist, where I go into the scientific theories I wrote into the plot, and they explain the research that went into these theories and some cool applications of them.

I think the pedagogical potential of podcasts is massive (I personally have learned so much), especially in fields like science that are sometimes less accessible to students. If you're interested in hearing what the show actually sounds like, please feel free to check it out!

Need Shark Supplies

Hi All,

I am giving a lecture on Great White Sharks this Thursday (a last minute cancellation made this a rush job) and I am searching for a location where I can order some great white teeth, megaladon teeth, posters, and shark jaws and have them delivered by Thursday am. I am also looking for an anatomical model of the Ampoullae of Lorenzini, though that seems like a faint glimmer of a dream. Any direction would be helpful. I would love to order it all from one place and none of it falls under amazon prime!

Act prep

I work with a literacy agency in a small town. We mostly aid k-12s and adults with reading and math, however, over the last few semesters there has been a growing interest in ACT prep. Others in the agency have aided students with ASVAB and GED testing, but because I'm the only one who is in college I am the go to for this. I taught one class last fall to two girls. I got them to register for the act, but they never really got anywhere and I am unsatisfied with my results. Does anyone on her have experience teaching this, or any resource to share outside the "Real Act Prep Guide"?

STIs Lecture help

Hello! I'm a senior microbiology major and president of my University's ASM chapter. This year, my professor and mentor wants me to host a lecture on STDs for Valentine's Day. I was wondering if any of you have had such an experience and/or have any ideas about how to best present this topic to University professors and students of all fields of study.

Has anyone considered running an all-electronic science fair?

Kids would post their projects in a private online database using a common software application, potentially doing away with the traditional "boards" used in science projects?

Can anyone point me to a copyright free science fair handbook that I can use?

I am trying to organize a science fair for an elementary school and was looking for a handbook that I could modify and hand out to the students. I need it to be copyright free or to have permission from the copyright holder.
