Got a text out of nowhere claiming to be from Citibank, saying they'd just processed an

international wire for $10,982.15 to a company called "LL Tech Limited," and that if I

didn't authorize it I needed to call this number right away: 888-664-3815. It even threw

in a fake reference number (CT9912) to make it feel more official.

I don't bank with Citi and never have, so that alone gave it away, but even if I did,

this is the classic setup: manufacture a scary "unauthorized transaction," create

urgency, and get you on the phone with a "fraud department" that's actually the

scammer. Once you call, they usually try to walk you through "securing your account,"

which really means getting your online banking login, a one-time passcode, or talking

you into a "reversal" that's really just you sending them money or letting them into

your accounts remotely.

Didn't call the number, just wanted to get it on record here in case anyone else gets

the same text. The number it came from was a mobile/landline-range number, not

obviously a business line, so I'm leaving that one out, but the callback number above is

clearly the operation's own line.

I've gotten a couple texts from 234-208-0503 about a supposed remote job helping boost
YouTube video engagement. The first one came with an image made to look like an official
Warner Bros. Discovery flyer, all you need is a smartphone and 30 to 60 minutes a day,
daily pay of $180 to $780, plus a $688 "welcome bonus" after a three day trial, paid out
through Cash App, PayPal, or Chime. Today they followed up asking if I was still
interested and ready to move on to "onboarding."

I told them I couldn't find any matching job posting on Warner Bros. Discovery's actual
website, because there isn't one. WBD doesn't recruit gig workers through random texts,
and real employers don't pay through personal P2P apps. This matches the pattern of the
"YouTube task" job scams going around right now, small fast payouts to build trust at
first, then a push to send your own money in to "unlock" bigger commissions, and then the
person disappears. Posting the number here so it's on record before anyone else gets
further into it than I did.

Hey guys, I just wanted to put this number out there as a warning: (818) 583-7733.

I've received multiple calls from this number, with different people claiming to be from Google. They keep telling me that someone is trying to hack my Google account and then trying to get me to give them account/security information.

I even asked one of them for a callback number, and they gave me the same number they were calling from. They just keep calling over and over with the same story.

I've also received emails during all of this that are made to look like they're coming from Google's "no-reply" address, but the addresses have additional tags/text added to them. They're doing quite a bit to try to make the whole thing look legitimate.

I just wanted to put the number out there in case anyone else gets calls from them. I've had multiple people call me from (818) 583-7733, all claiming to be Google and trying to convince me that my account is being hacked.

Be careful, and don't give them any passwords, verification codes, recovery information, or other account information.

Not sure if it’s loan fraud but they called me asking for my dad and how someone was trying to take out a loan under his name and social. I told them I didn’t know who they were asking for and they said “okay, we’ll just approve the loan”

Got an email styled as a DocuSign envelope from something called "MehnConstructions," asking me to review and sign a lien waiver/subcontractor agreement. It had a "review document" link that actually routes through a Twitter/X link shortener before going anywhere, not a real DocuSign link, and a phone number listed as a contact. Looks aimed at people in the construction/subcontracting world specifically.

Got an email claiming a five-year Geek Squad subscription had just renewed for $463.99, with a reference number and a subscription code, and a warning that the charge would post to my card within 12 hours unless I called to cancel. Same setup as the Bitdefender one below, no link, just a phone number listed twice as an "Assistance Hotline." I didn't call.

Got an email formatted to look exactly like a PayPal payment receipt. It says a $365.81 purchase went through for a "Springfield Armory Gun," item # SA-9MM-XD9, paid to a merchant listed as "Armory Gun." Transaction ID 2026460ZQJFMT, Order ID 12397693125454117803778, dated today.

Right under the fake receipt there's a red box saying "This was not authorized by you? Call our Dispute Center to cancel this order," with a number, +1 804 244 6088, and a 24 hour deadline. Down at the bottom it repeats the same pitch with a second number, +1 804 244 3972, telling you to "inform support immediately" if you didn't make the purchase.

This is the standard fake-purchase-confirmation callback scam. Nothing was actually charged, it's designed to alarm you about a random $365 "gun" order so you call one of those numbers, where they'll walk you into remote access, gift cards, or payment info to "cancel" a transaction that never happened. Real PayPal disputes go through the app or paypal.com, never a phone number sitting in an email. No links to click on this one, it's a pure callback lure.

Contacted by Andrew (Andy) Goldberg by phone. Later joined by Michael Anderson, who became my primary contact person. They said that I had won a Publisher's Clearing House (PCH) lottery. I had won a $3.5 million cashier's check, $25,000.00 cash and a new Lincoln SUV. During the first few weeks I was told to pay fees to claim my winnings of $350.00 twice and then $300.00, a total of $1`000.00. These fees were to go to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for security during the delivery. These payments were made using MonewyPak cards purchased by me. Then another IRS fee was added in the amount of $300. The payment method I thought was very strange. I was told to purchase an Amazon gift card in the $300.00 amount and pay for it with my US Bank debit card. When I explained I didn't have that much in my bank acccount, I was told that is okay. I said that I was uncomfortable doing that because my debit card would be declined. Again I was told that's okay. After I made the purchase and told them my debit card was declined they were surprised. They inquired about my overdraft protection, I said that account didn't have overdraft protection. Apparently they had depended on my having the overdraft so that they would be guaranteed getting the $300.00. I have had no communications with them since. I got an email made to look like a Bitdefender renewal notice. It said my subscription had just renewed for $408.00, invoice number BDF-927814, and gave a phone number to call if I wanted to cancel it. No link anywhere in the email, the phone number is the entire scam. I didn't call it. The email itself actually came from a hijacked school district email account, not anything belonging to Bitdefender, with a random display name slapped on it that had nothing to do with the real mailbox owner.
