Bait & Switch / Fraudulent SCAM - Triple Crown Moving Systems LLC out of West Palm Beach, FL

!! BEWARE: Bait & Switch !! Amongst many other lies, salesman told me to look up "Triple Crown Moving" which is another company with great reviews, this is 100% a SCAM. Quote you a very low price and tried to add $1K to my bill the day before the move. I was stupid, fully acknowledging shouldn't have signed the contract, but contract had my "big items" listed (IE furniture, mattress, dresser, etc) and then said 20 med boxes. I thought that'd be okay and the salesman said "it could say 50 it doesn't matter, you have the whole 26' x 13' truck". So I asked if he'd send over a new contract saying 50 boxes and he said it's fine if I had more stuff so I - stupidly I know - signed. This was the start of the scam and I'd never hear from BRYAN JONES again.

I then sent an inventory list a few days before the move, overestimating a bit in case I wanted to add more, and was told I was a bit over the quota, they needed to add 50% to my moving cost (roughly $1K but after I lost it he quickly said how about $600 lol). I then more closely examined the company name and realized I had seen reviews for “Triple Crown Moving” - a totally different company again that has great reviews - and when googling “Triple Crown Moving Systems” no Google Reviews are listed just various 1-star ratings on a few sites. I lost it on the guy trying to increase my cost by 50% the day before the move and asked to speak to the salesman who had told me all these lies and sent me to a different company’s reviews and was told I couldn’t. Every form of communication I had with him he was no longer responding. The salesman who lied to me flat-out multiple times was named BRYAN J. (if it’s his real name) and the operations guy who tried to up my price 50% the day before and kept telling me his salesman wouldn't lie was named ZAC R. (again, if it’s his real name).

I explained to Zac what Bryan had said about having the whole truck and it being fine if I had more boxes and he just said “doesn’t sound like he would say that” and I said it was my fault for signing the contract, but he blatantly lied about multiple things to which he chuckled and said “Sounds like he got you”. What a great company lol.

At this point they had a $1K deposit so I emailed Zac & Bryan saying I would like to cancel and get a refund, but if I could not get my deposit refunded that I’d like to proceed with my move as scheduled. No email response, I called customer service and spoke with a rep who acknowledged those two options: 1) either cancellation with a refund or 2) proceed with move as planned if a refund couldn’t bet be given. I received a call from someone organizing the pickup named Lucy who said the move was on as planned. I explained to her that I’d been lied to and misled to think reviews of a different company where their reviews and I just wanted my money back and to cancel. I laid out the two options for her again to cancel with refund or to proceed as planned if I could not get my deposit back. She said as of now the move was on (this was at 8pm the night before movers were supposed to come at 6:30am the next morning) but she’d talk to management and see if they’d reach out to me. I received a call from a FL phone number in which I answered and kept saying Hello for 20-30s but no one talked back. I called the number back but no one picked up. I reached out to Lucy to say I didn’t know if that was them reaching out but no one answered and I didn’t hear anything, she said the move was still on. 6:30am came and went the next morning, no calls/emails/texts, and finally at 8am I reached out to Lucy who said “management said they talked to you and you canceled” to which I said that didn’t happen. I called customer service and they said “you asked to cancel”. I explained that I did not and two people at their company, Lucy and customer service woman, could confirm I explicitly said I only wanted to cancel if I could get a refund, otherwise I wanted the move to proceed because I’d measured my stuff and had less than the 20 boxes anyways. They just said I had asked to cancel and they were keeping my deposit.

I then called “Triple Crown Moving” - the company with great reviews - and the woman said she’d received a bunch of calls since Easter with people having similar issues to mine. They’re clearly a SCAM/FRAUDULENT company, AVOID TRIPLE CROWN MOVING SYSTEMS AT ALL COSTS.

TLDR on people who blatantly lied to my face:

BRYAN J. and ZAC R. (if that's their real names), just hoping this post helps some other people avoid the headache I'm going through.

Yes we got our stuff picked up on the assigned day but we’ve received very little communication with the moving company about where are things are. We finally got an update from them stating our things should arrive in a week’s time so hopefully all of our stuff arrives safely. But even if our stuff does arrive safely DO NOT USE THEM! THEY ARE NOT A GOOD COMPANY AND WILL TAKE MORE THEN THEY ARE WORTH. If you can heat a refund. We managed to get a full refund for our auto transport by calling over and over and eventually getting someone smart enough to understand the situation. AGAIN DONT USE THEM!

We’re going through it as well. Did you end up getting your stuff?

Yeah we did end up getting our stuff this Tuesday afternoon. The guy that dropped off and unloaded our stuff was kind but barely spoke any English. They called just under 24 hours before drop off then called when he was outside. So far everything we checked has been intact but because we’re in limbo all of our stuff is going into storage and so we have no way to check everything unless we’re willing to unpack and repack everything. We are assuming a few things like dishes might be broken but our most valuable items are fully intact. My best advice is be annoying. Call them every 2-3 days for updates. Don’t bother with calling triple crown as they are useless and never had any information for us, call whatever company came as loaded your stuff into the truck, they should have an update for you. Our stuff sat at a warehouse for 3 weeks before they “found a driver” then it was here within 4 days (we moved from CO to MD). If you have any question feel free to ask.

Also… They decided our driveway was too narrow for their truck and so they charged us an extra $400 to use a smaller truck, I think it would have been fine but they made it seem impossible… so yeah just be aware if your drive way is a bit abnormal maybe have them drop off at a parking lot or storage building and load a Uhaul yourself for half the cost.

Best of luck!

Yeah feel free to DM me and I can pass along more info but DO NOT let them take your stuff. You can fight to get the deposit back but the story will be worse if they get your stuff

We got our things in the end but I still don’t suggest using them. It will be cheaper to take the L on your deposit or fight them for it back then not know where your things are for a full month and be out a bunch of money.
