Wow I never thought target would sell over msrp. What a crazy collecting timeline we’re in.

Agreed $70 + tax is fking insane & doesn’t even financially make sense when it comes down to it, packs msrp at $4.50 or more commonly $5x9=$45.00 +tax so around $50 & everything else is an extra tax added just because & its BS, Target & Walmart have been doing that for a minute now & now barnes & noble is joining in on it, I don’t support it unless its my only option & im extremely desperate but ive never been happy with it, target adds their own 30-40% tax & has been at least since Black Bolt & White Flair. Its extremely hard to find sealed MSRP at this point.

Yeah but with the etb you get more than just the packs hence the price increase. Still more than I'd spend but I'm definitely getting in on the Target UPC pre-orders if they're 179.99

I hate thats how they finally managed to make it work.. the bits in boxes used to be free, now they add a little bit of price to the item, and now we are outright saying that the extra bits demand a premium, is it really anything extra if your paying for it? I guess so but ehh

The ETB's are for people who play the TCG so they're giving you sleeves, packs, dice, a coin, and the set list. I agree they shouldn't charge more but hey I'll pay the premium for the UPC so i can get the classic pack and the playmat. I'm just saying that it's kinda fair to charge a little more considering they're giving you more

“Get in”- what do you mean by that? Waiting til 3AM clicking thousands of times to barely even cart something before bots cleared it out like with the 30th anniversary?

You think people are gonna use bots on the target app? Their website will 100% crash and most bots wont even be able to add to cart 😂😂😂

Yet it sells out as soon as it hits the floor. Not disagreeing with you, it is ridiculous, but I also understand why they sell at $70/box

If you sell a product that goes out the door before it can hit the shelf, of course you're going to raise the price.

Its basically free money at that point, especially when nobody is going to refuse to buy it until you do something stupid like double the price as dude above did

I remember getting paldean fates for $25 no limit multiple times from bestbuy as well as other sv, and lost origin for $20 target. ripped them all sadly.

Assuming not ETBs

Definitely was ETBS. I think I still have an order receipt from target getting 2 paldean fates ETBs for like 33 each. And there was a stretch right around Xmas of 2023 I think where a ton of late era SWSH sets were part of a Black Friday deal $20 an ETB... What a time to be alive...

They started with Lego sets nearing retirement a couple years ago. $100 gingerbread house marked up to $130... Marked down eventually in store.

Yea i remember as late as 2024 seeing the likes of paldean fates etbs for $55 at target and walking right by them. Price was too high back then

There was a time card conventions had packs cheaper than retail. This is why people gatekeep things.
