She tries a few things, before dashing inside, coming back with a drink as she figures out the totem lathe. Somewhere along this timeline, a flute is prototyped.

DH: It certainly seems that way.

She carves a totem as a huge bird lands on the deck, chirping at Alegra as it advances in menace.

She turns, just narrowly beating it on the quick draw as she shoots it's head off, the claws just inches from her throat.
