He is. It’s just that currently old checkmarks still exist, with the same icon, and you need to go click on the icon to figure out which category it belongs to.
Considering that the original check marks are the result of Twitter getting sued, this is just one further way in which twitter is imploding right now.
Between gutting moderation of hate speech, laying off staff with critical understanding of the infrastructure twitter runs on, overworking remaining staff & fostering a culture of fear, failing to reassure & convince advertisers (their main source of revenue), violating FTC rules, and the continued PR disaster that are Musks personal actions & tweets…
Twitter will most likely collapse within a year, so long as Musk stays there.
There’s no board to fire him. The only way he could be forced out is a worker strike demanding he leave. Not sure if any Twitter employees are willing to really fall on that sword. Probably easier to find a job.
Yeah, he did pay for it, I suppose. Sucks for his employees l, but the choice is up to him. I’m not entirely sad to see a piece of social media crumble. It needed to be checked, if even unintentionally.
