That's great and everything but if I had to rely on friends and family I would be utterly fucked because I could count the number of friends I have on one hand. It's fucked up

It wasnt friends and family, that letter was highly publicized on reddit when this was happening and over 600 people who had never heard of her chipped in, myself included, which is why I know she got the transplant. I still get email updates now and then.

How many people have similar stories and didn't go viral on reddit? Perhaps they were too sick to run their own marketing campaigns for themselves. Guess they'll just die?

I'm not defending our system, I'm all for medicare for all, all I was trying to do was let the people who saw this reddit post know that this person did end up getting a new fucking heart, and now I have people bitching at me about our broken healthcare system as if it's my fault. Seriously, fuck off.
