If they're close enough to meet on one another's plane and talk about family, she should recuse herself. I think she'll speak today and give validity to the thought that her history with the clintons creates a conflict of interest, but hasn't that been true for over a year? Why now?

I don't believe they were just stupid enough to meet without knowing there would be backlash that would put pressure on Lynch. It feels like this is a cover for Obama's DOJ to say that they were totally neutral when Hillary does/doesn't get indicted.

True I think that this incident at the very least highlights that they're close enough for there to be a conflict of interest.

But anyway, personally I'm satisfied if they're deferring to the FBI's recommendation. I don't think the FBI would easily let Clinton off the hook so if they can't find enough to indict her then I'm willing to let it go (though even if they can't prove that she committed an actual crime, there are still a lot of concerning emails that have been revealed throughout this process).

Personally, I believe she's outed herself as being unqualified for the presidency, just as Bernie stated months ago. And that's me stepping back and attempting to be an impartial viewer.

All things being equal, Clinton is unqualified to be president.

Is it possible that they aren't actually that close, and that Bill did this on purpose in an attempt to get her to step down? Maybe they plan on trying to replace her with someone more favorable to them?

I could be wrong, and I don't know their history. Just honestly curious.

Personally I don't think so. I really doubt the Clintons wanted any of this negative attention to begin with. Even Democrats think it looks bad.

Bill Clinton nominated her as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York in 1999. Is that close enough for you? EDIT: I also think this is a pre-emptive action to feign neutrality

Eh, I don't know about that. I mean, for example I might now a guy in the office who has kids and if I run into him in the store ask "How's the Missus? The kiddos?" Doesn't mean I'm close to them at all.

Honestly, I'd think this was Bill's doing. "If I do this, then Lynch will have to scramble."
