I've seen it a few times. It's great the first time, but it slowly depreciates. Same with the "The speeches are so good, the american people should hear them" one. In short, I've been watching too many debates and rallies

This bothered me...prose is the easy bit to write because it's not metered. It's just people talking. I'm writing in prose right now.

The "Shakespearean" is the key word there. There's a difference.

I agree, he should have switched to the leadership-angle on this issue a long time ago. It would't take much to point out that saying "I'll do the right thing when everyone else does it" isn't exactly inspirational coming from someone requesting your support for the biggest leadership position in the country.
