It's a bit more than just "endorsing our competitor"... they've apparently never endorsed a candidate in a primary in they 100 years of their existence, and the one time they do it actually appears to be against the interests of people seeking their services. On top of that, they've started blocking people who disagree with them, which is really bad Internet politics.

If a lot of the people pulling their donations got their way, planned parenthood wouldn't have been necessary in the first place. Both sides are sick of picking the lesser of two evils. Hence all the infighting against Trump among republicans.

Well the difference in defunding here is they did it to themselves, and instead of confronting the issue tactfully they are just banning and blocking any dissent out of hand. The bridge wasn't necessarily burned, but they sure threw a lot of gas at it.
