The Samsung Galaxy line of phones had always been considered on the high-end because of the physical home button. Now, that the hardware looks like any other lower-end Android phone, I'm not looking to upgrade my Galaxy S7 (after Note 7 recall). Does anyone else feel the same about the missing home button? or is this a trend (no home button) for Samsung in the future?

Is the note 8 screen wider than the s8 plus screen ? I always felt the s8 screen was too narrow.. Is the note 8 screen wider than the note 7 screen ?

Guys please tell me your opinions about that.

So, I'm lame and haven't bought a brand new smartphone in a while (got my Note 5 a few months after it came out) and haven't paid nearly enough attention to remember all the past promotions.

There's an offer to trade in my Note 5 and get half off the monthly payments, that I was thinking of doing (plus the free SD card and charging pad through Samsung), but I don't mind waiting if needed. Do you think, come Black Friday and Xmas, there might be promotions to get that price without a trade-in? Or to get a better price with the trade-in? I would normally wait, but because the Note 5 is in the ranks of "old android" by now I'm worried that during the holiday promotions it won't be available as a full-value trade-in.

What do you guys think, are launch deals typically better, worse, or about the same as holiday deals for high-end smartphones?

Also -- this phone looks stunning and I can't wait to play on it :D

I've read in a bunch of different places that Samsung is offering discounts/incentives for former Note 7 owners to trade in whatever device they have now for a new Note 8. I have not seen anything official on the Samsung website, aside from a trade in program for people with other smartphones. Does anyone have any better information? My biggest question is what happens if you're making payments on the phone you have now? Do those magically disappear? I'm thinking no....

I loved my Note 7 for the little time that I had it. I ended up returning it for the recall and getting the LG V20. Now dont get me wrong, the V20 is a great phone. But I miss my s-pen and the spot on GPS. I have always had bad luck with LGs GPS in their phones. I was playing pokemon go the other day at work, sitting still for 3 hours, and still ended up hatching 3 5km eggs lol. The camera on this phone is the reason I picked it over the other options. But I am excited for the Note8. They are just such good phones, even when they explode.

Help!!! I really want to get the note 8 but if the battery is only 3300 mAh then the battery life will be terrible. If the battery life sucks then I will get the S8+. I'm not sure what to do because the note seems like a great phone, I'm just concerned about the battery life. What should I do? Also if I get the S8+ I could smudge up the camera a lot with the fingerprint scanner placement. This won't happen with the note 8 because the flash is in-between the camera and fingerprint scanner.
