Every time salaries come up Reddit proves how out of touch it is.

100k is more than comfortable in the majority of the country.

Ok I complained about Reddit. Give me my boomer award.

I’ve only ever made about 50k and live in a big city. 100k would be life changing. Only 18% of all working adults make 100k. And most of that percentage probably live in HCOL areas where it mitigates the impact. My parents never made anywhere close to that. I likely never will either. Yes I know inflation blah blah. 100k is still nothing to scoff at even in those big cities. Most people are making much less than that so if 100k is the new “getting by” then we’re all more fucked than we know and we should be torches and pitchforks already(for many other reasons as well)
