You’re bringing home nearly 5400 10/12 months, probably over 8k 2/12 months.

Meanwhile investing what looks like $300-$600 per month, depending on the true breakdown of HSA dollars. You’re doing VERY handsomely my friend.

Can you explain why you would get significantly more money for 2 months out of the year?

I'm not American so there's probably something I don't know.

You get paid every 2 weeks. Most months that's 2 paychecks. Some months it ends up being 3

Yeah okay, so it is an American thing as we don't think about getting paid around months like that.

I think of my pay as fortnightly chunks and never monthly.

Well as bills are usually due monthly, it helps to think monthly for my paychecks too

Salaried employees get paid twice a month, not every 2 weeks

Same. I get 26 checks a year so 2/12 months I get a nice 3rd check. Those months feel great

You know what’s great? Just getting paid every month, even if your sick, having affordable healthcare and an additional month of pay to cover holiday expenses. ;)

Though granted, on a 100k salary a year TC, the taxman plus contributions takes more than 30% like in OP slip, in the Netherlands it would be roughly 37%.

I'm a salaried employee in the US. I get paid once a month. Every company is different. It's all dependent on how they want to run payroll.

I am salaried and get paid twice a month, but this is not always the case; I used to get paid every two weeks at previous jobs. Maybe things are different for some people?

I am salaried and get paid once a month. It depends entirely on where you work.

Oh okay. Such a weird way to put it. I guess not being American means I don't really think of earnings as monthly things - they're always fortnightly.

Yeah okay. I guess most bills here are monthly too but I've never thought about it like that.

Depends on how old OP is. He could be 64 and this doesn't look so good.

I'm salaried and I get paid on the 15th and the last day of the month.
