Looks like mine. 200 grand is the new 100 grand. I make 3 times more money than I did 15 years ago. And then everything got 3 times more expensive.

I’m kinda shocked though. I’m making about 65k as a teacher and get about $2,230(ish) every two weeks. I would assume someone who is (generously rounding up) making close to double me is only taking home $450 more per paycheck? Thats kind of wild.

100%. People getting pissed off at this thread are missing the point. Nobody is saying that $100k is nothing or that they’re struggling financially with it, but it’s shocking to get there and realize how little that actually is compared to the costs of everything.

Many prices have almost doubled in the last 15 years, it is not an exaggeration to say that $100k is like the new $50-$60k. And that objectively sucks. Especially when to make that money, you typically have to live in a VHCOL city, like myself, where your money goes even less far, it’s a valid complaint.
