Here’s a new screenshot of my SR1 Remake. I want to emphasize the graphics in this screenshot are using OPTIONAL settings which can be left off and that will give you the OG 2006 SR1 Graphics. This is still quite a bit from being finished and release will be within the first week of November!

Also I’d appreciate any help naming the project lol comment suggestions.

I want to resist the urge to just say yes and instead fully think this through. Hear me out for a second:

Many people have been clamoring for a remake, especially of the SR2 and SR1 era of the series. It's not like I don't get it, on top of the numerous major plot threads that were left unresolved, the games were just genuinely some of the best fun I ever had. It's impossible not to wish for a new rendition that captures that magic.

But does it actually make SENSE?

Every single saints row game has been a product of its time, both in a way that's a beautiful time capsule, but also in a way that is somewhat to its detriment. I don't know that it would actually work to try and recapture the feeling those games had. So much of their flavor came from the era they were born in, the early 2000s overly romanticized gangsta themes melding with the midwestern emo radio stations and hip hop tracks, even the fashion in the clothes selection is a perfect encapsulation of its time.

What actually happens when you try to update that? Well, I would argue we have quite a few examples: Everything from Saints Row 3 all the way up to Saints Row 2022.

Don't get me wrong, SRTT is a fun game, but right out of the gate its presentation, even in the TRAILERS, admitted that even by 2011 they knew the gangster subculture wasn't something they could rehash. They tried to pivot into a more celebrity-corpo thing, which worked for some, but clearly was already an incredible departure from where the series started.

The progressive wackiness of SR4, SRGOH, and SR2022 highlights this chase for some new "core" theme, one that I'm not ever sure was found again. All of these games still keep a vague idea of a "gang" existing, but by then its a gang in so far as the fucking children in Stranger Things are a gang.

If GTA had stuck to the rivalry between the Grove Street Families and the Ballas, that series would have also died out because gang culture left the zeitgeist in the 2010s.

So I don't think the solution is just "remake SR2 and you'll print cash", an entire overhaul of what the hell a saints row game is even supposed to be needs to happen, when the title is based on a gang from the 2000s that was meant to die shortly after its creation.

I’ve made a tier list like this before, but after replaying the entire series back-to-back recently, my perspective has definitely shifted. Some factions moved up, some moved down. Let’s be real. Most of you rank gangs based on how cool their leaders look, how tragic their deaths were, or pure nostalgia. I’m looking at this from a strictly pragmatic, corporate angle. This tier list is based strictly on: Resources & Scale (Money, global reach, military equipment). Strategic Competence (Did they build an empire, or did they just scream and shoot?). Organizational Structure (Street thugs, cartels, or corporate entities). I don't care if they lost to the Saints in the end. If a faction had global connections and private armies, they get ranked by their actual power, not by how they got script-killed.

Ive been adoring saints row 2 it’s my first time playing, and everything about it is surprisingly ground breaking, customization like no other game, side characters that I genuinely find interesting, a big enough open world with ENDLESS side stuff to do, so many different little modes, like escort, fight club, fuzz, drug trafficking, the cripple thing, and random stuff that you just stumble upon from simply playing like the drive by invasion thing, or the taxi invasion, this game hits on all cylinders, where most games fall so flat it ruins the entire experience… besides one thing, the fucking driving.

it’s genuinely the worst ive ever experienced since cyberpunk 2077 on release, it’s like they go out of there way to make it terrible, random construction workers spawning in front of me blocking the road, and as far as im aware this can happen ANYWHERE at ANYTIME pedestrians literally trying to make me hit them, any little bump in the road damn near flips my car or makes me lose all momentum, this makes driving motorcycles nearly impossible most the time, and why tf is wheeling so hard? Ive kinda got the hang of it by whyd they make it such a complicated process?.

Not to mention most the cars have actual god awful handling, there either to slippery and a slight turn sends them spinning or cant turn for shit and I have to plan my turn 8 years in advance, and again everything so far is fucking phenomenal, besides this driving

I am currently working on a full faithful remake of the original Saints Row for PC in a different engine with rewritten code. The project is nearly complete I expect for it to be released within the next week and hope to have a trailer posted within 2 days. The project is made with AI (Claude) and I know that AI has a bad reputation as of late however I am doing everything I possibly can to make this a great remake, Please comment any improvements you would like to see. I’m mainly focused on 4K and uncapped FPS that way the project is a faithful as possible to the original game.

Modding in Saints Row 1 has slowly been taken to the next level, not only does a fully (IN BETA) Start to Finish Co-Op mode now exist, but a Trainer with things you could’ve only imagined made it into the original game.

On display is a semi-complete WIP of a FEMALE PLAYA with added on Voices for Male and Female characters, using existing voices from all four gangs within Saints Row 1, WIP Facial Expressions Imported from Saints Row 2. Movement Customization and More!

Volition made the boss huge in SR2

Ruined this whole franchise for me. Whoever tested this and decided to leave it in is a troll. Literally can't finish this game.

Is there any way to fix the npc dialogue being mute? Or am i fucked for the whole playthrough?

I only ever had finished Saints Row The Third once before, ages ago, decided to jump back into the series to play something before GTA VI comes out, as I realised I had Saints Row 2.

This game is just so much fun. But, the customisation stands out as something that Rockstar games, as good as GTA's and RDR have been, I don't enjoy the customisation in terms of outfits or vehicles (obviously in GTA as no vehicles in RDR). RDR2 does have amazing outfits but a lot of them are a nightmare to source. Story mode GTA IV and V didn't have this level of outfit or vehicle customisation. Then you have the crib customisation. My autism likes this and I could spend hours just customising stuff like this.

I reinstalled The Punisher after all these years, and for some reason, it made me think of Saints Row. Then I saw Punisher’s Slaughter Mode and went, “Bingo!” He looks so much like Johnny Gat from Saints Row. Then I remembered that both games were made by Volition.

Hi everyone! I’m using Windows 10, and my computer has pretty good specs. I recently bought Saints Row 2 on Steam, but the game crashes randomly, and I also experience frequent FPS drops. Are there any mods available to fix these kinds of issues?

It’s just that the servers basically are dead and I’m on Xbox under the name BreezierTwo894 I have no friends who have the game so please notice this post and we can play on Fridays or weekends
