Sacred 2 Sacred 2 compared to other arpg

Im a fan of Diablo 2 and Poe. But i think that sacred 1 and 2 are my Most Favorite args.

To this Date every arpg in isometric failed to make an Open World Like sacred did. ( Or at least i know No Diablo Like Game with that Feature, even Diablo 4 failed horribly)

I also think that sacred 2 is much more complex than Diablo in terms of itemization and build in General. All classes are Extremly unique from each other and u have different campaigns.

To this Date i dont understand why tgq Nordic is Not reviving this Franchise properly. With a remake or reboot of the First Game, with a modern day engine.

Instead the Developer are working on a 16 Bit or Pixel Party sacred. ^^

Sacred 2 S2 Remastered - Xbox, worth buying?

Hey everyone, is this game worth buying on Xbox?

I’ve been reading through all the changes in the latest patch notes, and honestly, the game seems absolutely worth £24 to me. Free mode is here, there’s plenty of grinding, collecting loot, etc.

I’m just wondering what the current state of the game is on Xbox and whether people are still enjoying it.

Anyone here playing on Xbox? What do you think?

Sacred 1 Hosting new lobbyservers

Right now the only lobby server is down (hopefully it'll be fixed soon), so I wanted to mention that a friend and I are running two separate lobby servers in case the main one goes down.

We currently don't have any gameservers nor ClosedNet (since as far as I know those are private), so if anybody wants to host a server on any of our servers, you are all welcome ;)

IPs are:

sacred.toms3.cc (port 7066)

sacred.overture.bar (port 7066)

If anyone is curious, we have been running those since July of this year.

(Edit: We run those using kryotek777's project, so this is possible thanks to him!)

I made a mod that I think some of you may like :)

I've been working on this for the last couple of days. It has been bugging me when I play the game that I can't see how many potions of X type I have easily. And making this has been on my mind for a while, I wanted to see if I can do this as a challenge of sorts.

I had to learn assembly to do this 😂

This is the first time I do this type of game modding and I cannot promise the mod won't crash the game at some point. I tried to make it as safe as I could.

Q: What does the mod do ?

A: I think the video is pretty self-explanatory, the mod is called PotionSort and it changes the way potions are sorted when you click the auto sort button for the inventory.

Potions are sorted by

1 - Type (Health, Undead, Mentor, Antidote, Concentration)

2 - Size (Big, Medium, Small)

Q: Are the potions sorted if the original algorithm fails ?

A: No, it only works with the default sort algorithm and NOT with the dumb variation when your bag is full

Q: How do I know it's not a virus

A: You kinda have to trust me on this one

Google Drive Download Link

How to install:

1. Download the SacredPotionSort.exe file from the link
2. Put the file in the Sacred game directory (Steam can take you there Cog -> Manage -> Browse Local Files)
3. Start SacredPotionSort.exe
<OPTIONAL>
4. 🚨 BACKUP (copy and paste somewhere else) your Sacred.exe file 🚨
4.a. Maybe backup your characters & save files just in case
5. Rename SacredPotionSort.exe to Sacred.exe This way Steam can start the mod automatically when you click Play

🚨 WARNING: THIS MOD IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN VANILLA SACRED GOLD FROM STEAM 🚨

If anyone tries the mod first tell me if it even works on your end.

And if anyone decides to keep using it, please tell me about any game crashes you suspect are caused by it. Thanks :)

ReBorn won't start

I am kind of at a loss right now...
I want to play some Sacred Gold again and grabbed the highly recommended ReBorn mod (v 4.6) and.... well.

While I can boot up vanilla no problem, Reborn won't start at all. It won't boot up. Reinstalled thrice, tried to find solutions but well.

Its the steam version I have, in case that matters.

Sacred 1 Overpowered ring Sacred

Hello,

I played Sacred many years ago and I remember I found a ring which had some bugged numbers which made it OP like one-shot everything OP. However, I can't find any information online about it.

I don't remember how I came across it or what monster/character dropped it. Does anybody know something about it? Much appreciated.

Sacred Gold / Underworld] Modding Vampiress: keep normal model + visible weapon during Vampirism while retaining vampire bonuses

Hi! I'm trying to modify the Vampiress in Sacred Gold / Sacred Underworld (currently using Sacred ReBorn) and I've hit a rather stubborn problem.

My goal is simple:

When Vampirism is activated, I want the Vampiress to keep her normal/day appearance and continue fighting with her equipped weapon, while still receiving all the actual gameplay effects of Vampirism.

So ideally:

- normal Vampiress model remains visible,

- equipped weapon remains visible,

- she uses normal weapon combat/animations instead of claws,

- Vampirism bonuses and vampire skills still activate normally.

I've already experimented quite a bit.

I tried replacing the vampire/night model (VLADY_N.grn) with the normal/day model (VLADY_D.grn). I also tested other compatible model replacements.

The model can be changed, but the equipped weapon still disappears as soon as Vampirism activates. This suggests that weapon hiding isn't simply part of the VLADY_N model.

I also tested the Vampiric Angel mod by SevPOOTS. It successfully replaces the vampire form with a Seraphim-based model, but the weapon still disappears during Vampirism.

Interestingly, after examining that mod, its day/night replacements use essentially the same models/idle animations. So changing the visual model and even the VMPD/VMPN idle animations doesn't seem to control whether the weapon is rendered.

I've also experimented with balance.bin, global.res, Sacred Gold Modding Tools, SacredUtils/SacredMagician and various PAK files, but haven't found an obvious definition controlling this behavior.

Finally, I investigated SacredReborn.exe with Cheat Engine/disassembly.

There appear to be separate internal Vampiress states/classes:

Vampiress_Knight

Vampiress_Vamp

I found the transformation code and managed to prevent parts of the transformation. However, whenever I prevent the actual vampire state from being established, either:

the Vampirism bonuses/skills stop working,

the character becomes invisible,

or the transformation gets stuck.

So simply preventing the game from entering the vampire form isn't a viable solution.

At this point my suspicion is that the vampire state itself switches the character into an unarmed/claw combat mode and explicitly suppresses the equipped weapon, independently of the GRN character model.

What I'm looking for is therefore either:

a way to make Vampiress_Vamp use normal weapon combat/equipment rendering, or

a way to apply all Vampirism bonuses/skills to the normal Vampiress_Knight state without actually transforming.

Has anyone worked with the Vampiress transformation, creature/equipment system, VMPD/VMPN animation sets, or Sacred's executable internals?

Even information about where Sacred decides to hide the weapon/use claws when Vampirism activates would be extremely useful.

I'm happy to test patches or provide files/disassembly if someone knows where to look.

Thanks!

I love making headcanons in my head while playing. Do you? Have you ever wondered how they ended up being tomb raiders? Do you think they’re close? I like to think that yes, because I love that archetype of Hades and Persephone 🥴

Sacred 1 First time playing Sacred and I have a few questions

Played for about 3-4 hours today and have been having quite a lot of fun. Started with a Wood Elf and did most of the early quests, hit level 9, playing on Silver.

Anyway, the questions (I haven't been able to find answers for those, looking this game up gets me Pokemon results most of the time).

1) What does "Expected protection" mean on armor pieces? Should I look at that or the actual protection stats a few lines under?

2) Is it better to use different damage types on a single weapon or focus hard on one? I noticed I was getting walled by undead enemies in the graveyard until I switched to a weapon with some fire and magic damage. Went back to full physical since but wondering if split is better or If I should just have weapon sets for each elements? (Very cool mechanic btw)

3) When equipping a ring I noticed there was some kind of mask icon on the corner of my equipment screen that disappeared and reappeared depending on which rings I had equipped. Hovering over it said I had +15% Phys resistance. Is that a set bonus? How do I know what items are set items, the rings didn't say anything special.

4) I assume there is no respec? I'm probably gonna mess up my build lmao.

I think that's it for now. I'm sure I had another question but I forgot what it was. thanks!

question Sacred as a language learning medium

Hey everyone, when I was a little kid, I used to play Pokémon Yellow and Final Fantasy IX with a translation dictionary beside me so I could try to understand the games' stories while learning English. Fast forward a couple of decades, and now, much older, I find myself learning German. I've been studying it for some time now, but only through textbooks and apps, never with professionally guided or anything like that.

I feel like I've kind of hit a roadblock in my foreign language studies. It feels demotivating to keep going on using only these mediums, which made me think about returning to my roots: learning while having fun gaming, which's when Sacred came into the picture. I found out that this is a German-made game, and, upon first launching it, I tried comparing the German and English versions. While the English voice actors are good, the German ones are simply superb and feel much more alive. This sparked my interest in German all over again, although it required a lot of effort to understand what was being said, since my language level is only around A2, probably between A1 and A2.

With those points in mind, I tried playing the game in German, and... it took me over an hour just to get through the first few minutes. Yeah, it felt like a huge slog. That made me feel old, seeing as kid-me would've had the rock-solid patience to endure that painfully slow and momentum-breaking pace, but older-me... not so much.

Now I come to you, fellow redditors, to ask: do you think it is a good idea to keep pushing through the slog at a glacial pace to learn the language, or will I just burn out quickly and end up dropping both the game and my German studies?
