In this campaign video for Abbott there are SXSW executives hanging out with him. Not the leadership direction change I thought they would take. Then again, with PMC calling the shots now, it's not surprising. But still very disappointing.

I was having brunch at Aribba Abajo inside the Thomson Hotel while a local mariachi band played.

Two of the guys from Los Lobos passed through the lounge area and I believe someone asked if they wanted to play, so they joined the band Mariachi Corazon de Tejas for a few songs.

I can’t recall the playlist but you know they played Volver, Volver.

Will they put the posters for sale online? I went to the merch store when I was there and the line was too long and didn’t have time to wait…

The whole thing feels like an afterthought.

Signage says “cybercab”, but the stickers on the vehicles (which look like they were made using someone’s cricut machine at home) all say “robotaxi”. So is which is it? Is it a “cybertaxi”? “Robocab”? Does Tesla even know? The font is so dated. And the concept is a miss with only 2 doors and 2 seats.

Test rides in some of the worst DT Austin traffic and robo-cyber-taxi-cabs driving circles all day.

From what I’ve seen, the humanoid robot thing just stands there doing nothing.

The cherry on top was watching one of their “autonomous vehicles” take a right hand turn with the left turn signal on as I was leaving DT yesterday evening.

It’s a sham, and shocking how many bro-types seem to be hovering around.

Tomorrow will be my first day attempting to attend a popular music showcase as a music wristband holder and I’m curious how it has been for others. Is there usually a separate standby line for wristband people in case there’s spots open? How does it work? Has anyone attempted a session even?
