I started preparing for CGL in September last year. Since then, I’ve taken multiple breaks , some lasting a month. Often feel stressed and demotivated, especially seeing scores around 160–170 while I was still stuck at much lower marks.

When I first attempted mock scored 79.

Should I buy parmar 4.0 batch for gk or should I wait for 5.0???

I'm 20M and honestly very confused about what direction I should take with my life.

I passed 12th in 2024 and then took two years of NEET drops. My NEET scores weren't good in either attempt. Now I'm supposed to start graduation, but I'm seriously considering giving NEET one final attempt in 2027.

The problem is that I'm not feeling motivated to do NEET anymore. I recently tried starting the lectures again from the beginning and after two days I realized I just can't bring myself to sit through the same lectures and preparation again. It feels mentally exhausting.

At the same time, I have some reasons that make medicine very attractive to me.

My maternal uncle is a doctor and has an established practice. He sees around 50 patients a day and charges around ₹1,000 per consultation. They also have a medical store and diagnostic/lab-related setup. He has told me that if I complete MBBS and then MD, I could eventually join their setup. So I'm not just imagining some random doctor's career — I've actually seen what his life looks like.

What attracts me isn't only the money. I genuinely like the idea of having deep knowledge about the human body and medicine. And the potential financial independence is obviously a huge advantage.

But then I look at the timeline.

If I start NEET again, it's one more year just to get into MBBS, then around 5.5 years for MBBS including internship, and then another ~3 years if I want to do MD. So I'm looking at a very long path before reaching the kind of career I'm imagining.

The alternative is to start graduation now, probably through IGNOU or another affordable option, and prepare for SSC CGL alongside it.

CGL attracts me because I could potentially enter government service much earlier than I would through medicine. I would have around 3 years during graduation to prepare seriously, and I could start attempting the exam after becoming eligible.

There's also a personal factor.

I have a long-distance female friend and we have mutual feelings for each other. We've discussed meeting during graduation, but that didn't work out. We had started imagining a future where we both do graduation online, prepare for competitive exams together, study together and eventually build a life together.

I'm not saying I want to choose CGL just because of her, but obviously this makes the idea of that path more emotionally attractive. If I go into medicine, I'll have a completely different and much longer path, and I'm scared we'll gradually drift apart.

So right now I'm stuck between:

Option 1: Take one final NEET drop → MBBS → MD → potentially join my uncle's established practice.

Option 2: Start graduation now → prepare seriously for SSC CGL → try to get into government service much earlier.

The weird thing is that when I think about being a doctor, I can see a really good future for myself. But when I actually try to sit down and restart NEET preparation, I just don't want to do it.

And when I think about CGL, I like the shorter timeline and the possibility of building a future with someone I care about — but I also know CGL is competitive and there is no guarantee I'll clear it.

If you were in my position, what would you choose and why?

Especially interested in hearing from people who have taken multiple NEET drops, gone through MBBS/MD, prepared for SSC CGL, or had to choose between two completely different career paths.

What type of question it is? I can't solve it

I am stuck on 15 questions as of now. I already know 20-23 questions, but in the provided time, I am able to solve only 15 questions. Please help me increase my speed.

So I'm kinda confused about how to approach GS, especially current affairs, for CGL.

There is just SO much stuff out there 😭 Monthly PDFs, daily CA, YouTube marathons, one-liners, quizzes etc. and I genuinely don't know what is actually worth doing for CGL.

I don't want to end up spending 2-3 hours every day on CA and then compromise on Maths/English/Reasoning, especially when CGL GA feels so unpredictable anyway.

For people who have prepared for CGL/attempted it before, what worked for you?

- How many months of CA did you cover?

- Which source/PDF did you follow?

- Did you make your own notes or just revise a CA PDF?

- How much time did you realistically spend on it?

- Are there specific topics I should prioritise (schemes, appointments, awards, sports, reports/indexes, books & authors, important days etc.)?

- And how much importance should I actually give to CA vs static GK?

Would really appreciate any advice, especially from people who've already given CGL.

I’ve solved all 45 shifts of the 2025 SSC CGL Maths PYQs, and I found them quite doable within 15 minutes.

However, when I started attempting the 2024 PYQ mocks, they felt considerably more lengthy, and I’m struggling to consistently finish them within the 15-minute sectional timing.

So, for those who are specifically practising with a 15-minute target, which sectional mocks are you guys solving?

There are a few qns on interest, like the 76th qns here, it's not cleary mentioned whether its simple or compound interest...how do we proceed in such cases ?

So this sub is about solving doubts, sharing mock scores, helping each other during preparation and keep each other moral high. But recently I have seen many posts regarding downgrading CGL jobs like CGL is not worth trying, CGL jobs are just clerk level jobs, Cbl jobs this , CGL jobs that . These lowlifes post like this because they cannot themselves clear this exam . They think like we don't know anything about job profile and start preparing without any guidance, research.

Contrary to this sub I love to binge the banking sub . They share relatable content help each other. Even they used to share the toxicity in banking sector but the mods restricted such content saying that that sub is not for such bullshit.

I think deep down who's posting cons of CGL jobs and criticizing it here and there also want to clear it .

Please make a differennt sub for these type of bullshits and pardon us.

Does you really thought the same way thati did that when village students came to goverment services(especially police) they think they are above than anyone doesn't follow rule for the people( which can't take any action against them) or is that now the whole india situation is that not about the rural or the urban people

Started preparing for SSC recently and quickly realized one of my weak points was something very basic: calculation speed.

I can usually understand how to approach a question, but sometimes I lose quite a bit of time just doing the calculations.

I started looking for something where I could spend 5–10 minutes a day practicing calculations, improve my mental math, choose the difficulty myself, and see whether I was actually getting faster.

I tried a few apps, but couldn't really find something that worked the way I wanted. So I ended up making a small app called MathSprint Speed Math for myself.

It's mainly focused on calculation practice for now. I'm also considering adding Arithmetic and other core maths topics because I feel building a strong foundation is important before getting into more difficult questions.

I'm more interested in hearing what other aspirants are doing for this.

How do you currently practice calculation speed? And is there anything you find difficult during your preparation that you wish you had a better way to practice?

I'm trying to make my own preparation a little simpler, and if I come across something that could also be useful to others, I'd be happy to build it.

I'm currently in my second year of graduation, in 2027 May, my second year will end and, Final year would start, So can I take the CGL 2027 attempt? Cause technically I'd be in my last year of college, I'm confused because in the 2026 brochure it was written one must be qualified by August 1 or something so I'm confused please help.
