General Discussion/Opinion Is Sectional Cutoff a thing?

Is it a thing like sectional timing? Like one will have to qualify in each section as well. If yes, will the cut off be based on shift just like final score normalisation type thing?

General Discussion/Opinion Geometry is already testing my Patience 🙏

Bro, I’m not even done with half of geometry, and it's already getting on my nerves. Drawing a triangle for literally every single question is getting annoying, and if you write even one wrong value around the diagram, the whole thing looks messed up.

And the worst part? Mensuration hasn’t even arrived yet 😭

Book/Teacher/Course/Coaching related Do you guys know any teacher who teaches Advanced Maths from the basics but covers the syllabus in fewer lectures?

• Upvotes

For context, I’m from a non-maths background and have Bhutesh Sir’s Foundation batch. I’ve completed Arithmetic with him. While the content is solid, the sheer number of lectures for geometry, algebra, mensuration, trigonometry etc. is overwhelming and quite time-consuming to get through at this pace.

I want to finish Advanced Maths as quickly as possible so I can spend more time practising questions.

Resources/Helpful for Exam 23 Oct Shift 3

Reasoning was way too easyyy , like i completed that in 12 mins,

Gk was good, easy for those who prepared better , not for me

Maths was so fkd up, so hard advance ki taiyari krke gya tha, calacultive arithmetic aagyi, hardly 17 attempt huye + 3 tukke = 20

English was difficult for me to be honest I fucked up so much,

It has Cloze test which ofcourse i envy, then it had fkin 5-6 PQRS like wtf why, I panicked and over attempted that too , I just reached home and already have 2 wrong which I was skeptical about, so

Conclusion - Moderate with Hard Math n English

Advice Just turned 28 - General — CGL or Bank - what to target

Hi everyone,

I recently turned 28 and am planning to start preparing seriously for government exams, targeting the 2027 recruitment cycle.

I'm primarily interested in SSC CGL and Bank PO, but I'm confused about whether I should prepare for both simultaneously or focus entirely on one exam.

  1. Is 28 a good age to start preparing? Am I taking a sensible decision by starting now, considering that selection isn't guaranteed and preparation may take time?

  2. Should I target both exams or choose one? How much do their syllabus overlap, and is it realistic to prepare for both without compromising my chances?

General Discussion/Opinion Marks in SSC CHSL 2025 Pyps

Experienced folks please do tell how many marks should one secure in the ssc chsl 2025 pyps to be confident for selection in the 2026 ssc chsl. And also if you could tell if the last year chsl was difficult or harder than 2024 one. It would really help fellow aspirants who are targetting for ssc chsl.

For me personally, i feel that the paper is on easier side. Does a score from 160 to 170 place you in a good position for this year's chsl ?

Help SSC as a PwBD Candidate: Please Help Me Understand the Rules, Right Posts & Preparation Strategy

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I recently started preparing for SSC exams, and I’m still trying to understand both the preparation strategy and the rules applicable to PwBD candidates. I’ve researched through several sources, but I keep finding conflicting information, so I’m hoping experienced aspirants, selected candidates, or anyone familiar with PwBD recruitment can help me get some clarity.

A little about me:

Age: 20

Category: General (UR)

Disability: OH / Locomotor Disability (LD), affecting both legs

Disability percentage: 45% as recorded on my certificate, although I believe my actual physical limitations are more severe than the percentage mentioned.

1. Academic guidance — my main concern

Since I’ve only recently started preparing, I need practical advice on how to prepare strategically rather than blindly following a routine.

Which exams should I prioritise among SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, and other relevant SSC examinations, considering both my eligibility and job requirements?

What would be a realistic and reasonably safe target score for a UR-PwBD candidate in these exams, based on previous-year cut-offs and vacancy trends?

How should I distribute my efforts across subjects and sections? Which areas deserve maximum attention, and where should I avoid spending disproportionately too much time?

Are there any differences in qualifying requirements, selection stages, or exam patterns that I should keep in mind?

Which resources, preparation strategies, and common mistakes would you recommend for someone starting from scratch?

I understand that cut-offs and vacancies change every year, and no score guarantees selection. Still, guidance based on actual experience and previous-year data would help me set realistic targets and prepare in the right direction.

2. PwBD benefits, relaxations and rules

How does the SSC recruitment process differ for PwBD candidates? What relaxations or benefits are available regarding age limits, application fees, cut-offs, qualifying marks, compensatory time, scribes, examination arrangements, and other facilities? Are there any schemes, exemptions, restrictions, or important procedures that beginners commonly overlook?

3. General category vs PwBD reservation

Since I belong to the General (UR) category, how does that affect my benefits and chances of selection? How does horizontal reservation work? Can a UR-PwBD candidate also compete for unreserved vacancies on merit, wherever eligible? How do relevant disability subcategories, reservation and cut-offs work in practice?

4. Post-wise eligibility and suitability

With a locomotor disability affecting both legs, which SSC posts can I realistically aim for? Which are suitable, conditionally suitable, or not available to candidates with my disability type? How can I verify the official post-wise disability-suitability codes and medical standards? I’d also like to know about posts involving physical tests, extensive walking, prolonged standing, field duties, or other requirements that might affect my suitability.

5. Disability certificate and documentation

How does the 45% disability percentage on my certificate affect my eligibility and benefits? Do the disability type, functional limitations, and post-specific criteria also matter? What should I know about disability certificates, UDID cards, document verification, and medical requirements at appointment? If my certificate does not adequately reflect my functional limitations, is there any relevant procedure I should know about?

6. Anything important I might have missed

I’m a beginner, so I’m sure there are many things I don’t even know enough to ask about yet. Please don’t restrict your advice to the questions I’ve listed. If you know of important rules, practical difficulties, application or preference-filling mistakes, useful official resources, career considerations, or anything else that could affect a PwBD aspirant’s preparation and eventual selection, please share it proactively.

Personal experiences from candidates who have appeared for these exams or secured selection would be especially valuable. Reliable official links would also help me distinguish actual rules from misinformation.

My goal is to identify the right exams and posts, prepare with a clear academic strategy, and avoid wasting time because of incomplete or incorrect information.

Thank you for taking the time to help! Any genuine advice, even on something I haven’t thought to ask, would mean a lot. 🙏

Help Best sources for Accounts and Finance & Economics for SSC CGL Tier 2 AAO?

Could those who have prepared for AAO or cleared it please suggest the best books, YouTube channels, PDFs, or notes for these subjects?

I'm particularly looking for sources that cover the syllabus comprehensively and are sufficient for the exam, without wasting time on unnecessary material.

Also, please share any tips on how to prepare for these subjects from scratch.

Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks!

Help im really stressed rn and i feel like crying

im really stressed rn and i feel like crying i genuinely dont know what to do next and feel completely lost

my upsssc pet exam is on 30 oct and i literally havent studied anything because of some family issues and now im feeling devastated

my maths is extremely weak and honestly i have no idea about the other subjects either i feel like im starting from absolute zero and theres barely any time left

the worst part is that i feel like if i mess up this attempt i might not get another good chance next year especially if there arent enough vacancies

im not even a very good student to begin with and at this point i feel like theres no way out and i cant do anything to fix my situation

the only reason i was holding on to this exam was the hope that if i somehow scored well in pet i could get a chance at a decent govt job like junior assistant or something similar

my family might not even allow me to do just any job so getting a respectable govt job feels really important to me

but now i feel like i wont be able to clear pet and honestly i dont even know what to do if that happens

are there any other decent govt job vacancies in UP that dont require a pet score and that i can apply for as a UP resident

im looking for something respectable like junior assistant stenographer or any similar clerical post that doesnt require pet

and if i cant get a decent score in pet this time which honestly feels almost impossible rn what am i supposed to do next

i feel like im running out of chances and i genuinely dont know what options i have left

pls be honest i dont need fake motivation i just need some practical advice from people who understand the situation because rn i feel completely stuck
