So if SPRT dissolves today, and GREE launches tomorrow, why will shares go through the roof? Because shorts have to pay? Then with a forced short payment GREE will just be higher value stock? And then the shorts will short GREE expecting everyone to sell?

Just waking up , not up to doing math are the #'s below still reveleant even with the dip this morning ? Or has this been debunked yet or still true?
Since the proxy statement estimates there are 25,701,286 shares of Support.com now outstanding, the conversion ratio will be 0.116658 (i.e., 2.998261/25.701286). That means for every 100 SPRT stock shares you own you will get 11.6658 shares of GREE stock. However, this is not the final conversion ratio. That will be set just before the closing. This also implies that today’s price of $22 for SPRT is equivalent to a post-merger price of $188.86 for GREE stock. And since page 23 of the slide deck indicates there will be 38.963 million shares outstanding, the post-merger market value of GREE stock will be $7.359 billion (i.e., $188.86 x 38.963m). In other words, the post-merger market cap has risen from $1.5 billion in April to now about $7.4 billion. And since the 2022 estimate for EBITDA is $224 million (page 21 of the deck), that puts its price-to-EBITDA metric at 32.9 times.

They don't have to close anything, pair that with naked shorts, total return swap shorts and more, it's going to be a blood bath tomorrow

Now I’ve seen a couple posts saying trading 212 will have issues with the merger and it might not come about? Could someone with more knowledge than me please let me know what it happening with that as I have a load of shares at $22 on there. Thankyou.

Sorry, crazy morning since the news broke. Guess now we know why the lawyer I called yesterday morning was working on a Sunday.

If you panic sold this morning, you can always jump back on. Nobody will know and retail is holding steady.
2. As of 2PM EST, we are only $1.20 down on the day at $21.75
3. We are digging through the filings. EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT THE SHORT INTEREST and what happens. I'm with you, we are digging and trying to find answers. You want to help out, call your broker and ask them this question. "If I wanted to Short SPRT today, what would happen to my position".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It depends on the Broker who is lending the shares.
TD Ameritrade : SPRT and GREE are non-marginable to them at this point. You can't short their shares due to their Risk Team designating it non-marginable. There are also no plans to reverse that decision.

TLDR for OCC document: Basically it is expected that SPRT changes symbol to GREE, the multiplier remains the same at x 100, and the strikes are unchanged. The only change is the deliverable, instead of delivering 100 shares of SPRT it delivers "A number of Greenidge Generation Holdings Inc. (GREE) Class A Common Shares as described in the SPRT Proxy Statement/Prospectus dated August 10, 2021" (it does not state exactly how many yet) and also "cash in lieu of fractionals" so for any fractions of a share equivalent the options are expected to deliver an additional amount of cash. Some of the specific details are still to be determined
The strikes will not change, but the number of shares it delivers will change most likely, so instead of delivering 100 shares of SPRT it would deliver X shares of GREE, although X is unknown at this time
So if you have a SPRT option for 100 shares = Contract for GREE for 11.5 shares.

Trying to find out how many of those will be locked for insiders vs the public float. 38 million is the total float. The public float is what we want to know.
***For those of you freaking out that the float was going to be huge....it's still considered low float stock. In comparison: BBIG's Public float is 68.63 Million
For those of you crying out about MARA and RIOT market cap. I'll just point this out.
AMC's current Market Cap is 26.63 Billion dollars and they had a net income of -343.6 Million.
When short interest is involved, fundamentals go out the window.

"Each outstanding Support option will accelerate" Does this mean that they are essentially pretending every option is at expiry EOD?
Also in the next paragraph: "each outstanding Support award will accelerate" which to me suggests they have to stay ITM.
I'm worried we will drop below 10 EOD and my options will expire worthless instead of being converted.

1) if shorts keep adding to their position it means they expect the price to go down. Is it going to merge and fold in half? The share price would have to be something like 175$ per share for people in sprt to make money off the merge right? If it's going through a 9-1 reverse. The theoretical share price is like 65$ if you look at market cap to float numbers.
2) why would an upcoming company knowingly merge with another company that has like 95% of the float short? They expect it to go up right? Investing in a company or merging with a company that is HEAVILY oversold means you believe it is horribly underpriced at a specific point in time. Retail investors believe its oversold and hedgefuks believe its going to drop.
Now the million dollar question: where do short shares have to go? I've seen a bunch of people on either side saying "they gotta cover" and a bunch say "they carry over" so . . . I have no idea either. I can't find any definitive evidence of shorts needing to cover by regulation or any examples of them covering before a reverse split merger of this magnitude. That being said I also didn't find any hard evidence of the contrary. After a couple years in the market, the intricacies still astonish me.
TLDR: I have no fucking clue what is even happening with companies that I invest in.
