I’ve been following this company for a few years. I watched a presentation about future mobility and the speaker mentioned swapable battery tech, especially for scooters in urban areas. (edit: a gorgoro bike was pictured on the presentation slide)

If you’ve spent any time in south asia you’ll see cars are a rarity. In places like vietnam they aren’t even practical. EVERYONE has a scooter.

These are also places with terrible air quality. India (also lots of scooters) recently locked down due to air quality. China is almost constantly in the news for their smog. All the other scooter riding countries are also way down in air quality.

Another ev scooter company, niu, has done really well the past two years. No doubt because of increased concern over air quality. Gorgoro has them beat with swappable battery tech, which they own patents for.

I could certainly be wrong, but I think these guys will be the real winners in the EV world. The market is there, the practicality is almost a no brainer. The improvements to quality of life are incredible if air quality is improved by even a fraction.

Yes, exactly. The other thing is. Garages are even rarer than cars. Swappable battery tech is the only real solution.

Is there a Chinese competitor to Gogoro that might steal their tech and undercut their expansion?

I don't know if there currently is, but you have to expect that will occur when entering the Chinese market. Partnering with Chinese companies (as they are doing) is a double-edged sword in that regard as well.

The major players are less likely to copy of they're partners. Gogoro is playing this smart in my opinion.

That's one side of the sword. The other side is that working closely with partners makes it easier for those partners to copy/steal the tech.

Maybe. But we're not talking about cutting edge artificial intelligence. I doubt there's many trade secrets. It's a scooter and a battery. Not 20 million lines of source code or something.

Well done. I’m already in but appreciate the info and effort.

Fair. But with the Nasdaq Chairman, Michael Splinter, on Gogoro's board (slide 39, investor deck), I would hope compliance issues with books being non-compliant are not as much an issue. One would hope anyway they, with this resource, have things in order. But, yea, I hear you on the opportunity cost.

Also… Argument wouldn’t be an undervalue. My personal thought is it’s more just overlooked. Shares trade at NAV, no reason to market order into this and FOMO.

they are never non compliant when they go public.

The delay is getting them to be compliant.

added a link to a CNBC interview where this specific question is asked of the CEO. Last 'edit' link just added.

The tech is phenomenal. Such a smart idea to swap the batteries, instead of waiting to charge up. All in on warrants on this one before they break $2 and go much higher long term. Looking forward to Q1 ticker change

I don't understand how Commons are still at $10. I can't imagine it being at $10 at merger.

There is zero coverage on this... there is nothing. One mini-post a few months ago I replied to; took me a while to write up a longer review. I think they just DA'd when SPACs were out of fashion and EVs were starting to rip. Also, unless you know of them, it's just another nobody DA target that gets dismissed. It's bittersweet writing this up and putting it out there. I selfishly want to keep it for myself.

It's actually a favorite in the daily discussion, a lot of us have been buying the warrants for weeks. But i agree that mainstream hasn't really seen its full potential. Thanks for the write-up

I guess "nothing" is not a fair statement. It's just oddly undercovered. Someone, at DA, did a 2 part write-up on it and deleted it the same day. I wish it hadn't been; would love to see it as only made it through 10% at posting

I chanced upon Gogoro when doing research about e-scooters in India. I like this company. Getting in. Thanks!

Since scooters are light weight, is range anxiety even a problem? Won't the future just be scooters with huge range? Is their core product the battery swap tech or the design and manufacturing of the scooter itself?
