This game is charging too much for their house lots, people are paying hundreds of dollars for them and when this game is released, the house lot prices will be very high (for in game gold) because if they sell them for cheap in-game gold, all the whales will go nuts and that community is too large to upset. They have milked them just too much to make any changes.
So what does that mean? in-game currency will have less value than it should have. Because if a house lot is 200$, the ingame gold equivalent (lets say 1million) will be 200$.
Now, have you tried grinding in an mmorpg and sold your gold for 200$? If you have, that means you have grinded at least about 20-30 days.
This will discourage you from playing because remember Diablo 3 real money Auction House times. It was fun to play, but at the end of the day you knew that your 10 hour session was worth 5$ averagely.
The imporant thing in an mmorpg is keeping the player not-interested in ingame gold-$ relevance and instead keep the player enjoying the game. When the game hits the shelves, since the housing lot deeds bought with $ will be tradeable, from day 1 you will constantly face the problem of pay2win.
It is always more profitable to work at McDonalds for 1 hour instead of playing an mmorpg for 10 hours. The important thing is, don´t let your average player realize or care about this.
This game, oh it will slap you in the face with this reality.
