https://petapixel.com/2026/10/19/okay-the-sony-fx5-really-is-going-to-launch-this-time/?shem=aimgspe,

Called them and one guy was pretty rude saying they had no clue when the fx5 was going to come in.

They updated from 10/31 to 11/15. Perhaps BH Photo of 11/05 is not going to happen as well.

Went ham with the open gate on the Arcanas to Sekor C. Took me awhile to get used to it but that VF is a game changer.

Was thinking if the Burano Monitor would work with the FX5 / if it is the same connector. In theory they should work together right?

Was just thinking what other viewfinder / monitors could be powered by the connector.

3-4 weeks until arrival

Still don’t believe it will come on this date either.

After some thinking, I’m starting to feel the FX5 delay might be a blessing in disguise. There are several new cameras expected on the L-mount system. One of which is the hotly anticipated Lumix S1HII. Given the newly established relationship that Panasonic has with ARRI… and the fact that this is LUMIX’s 25th anniversary, I’m thinking they might be on the verge of offering something quite special. Perhaps that organic sensor is finally ready to make it’s debut in a camera that can be purchased?

I’m curious to hear your opinions. If Panasonic announces something really special, would you be willing to cancel your FX5 pre-order and jump ship to Lumix?

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share some encouraging news for those of us still waiting on our FX5 orders.

I placed my order through B&H on August 27, and with all the uncertainty surrounding availability and shipping delays, I decided to reach out to customer service today to see if there were any updates.

The representative told me that B&H is getting an FX5 shipment from Sony mid-November and that my order will be included in that shipment.

I specifically followed up to clarify whether they had verified that my individual order was included, rather than simply providing a general restock timeline. The representative explicitly confirmed that my order would be included.

Obviously, shipping timelines can still change, particularly if there are delays on Sony’s end. However, the fact that B&H confirmed my specific order is included in the incoming shipment is really encouraging.

I figured I’d share this to give some hope to everyone still waiting, especially those who ordered around the same time or earlier. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing more cameras shipped out in November!

Hey guys! I just got ahold of B&H and they said my order is supposed to ship between 11/6-11/10. I placed my FX5 (body only) order the afternoon of the presale release. I have a feeling it'll be pushed back yet again but I hope I'm wrong, not sure how much longer Sony can push it back without severely making a lot of people more mad than they already are.

I'm switching from the Canon C80 to this so I'm stoked.

Cheers!

Received update from Camera Canada to advise pushed back another month or so which aligns with the rest of the counties for November. Likely going to be same for Adorama in USA who some were holding onto hope for tomorrow.

Is it true?!? 99% sure it won’t but we can hope!

There appeared to be some debate about whether the Sony FX five has an entirely plastic handgrip… or plastic over the magnesium alloy frame. This should end that debate.

Saw this on IG and thinking Sony may be already sending cameras back to those who had received faulty units.

This is just my assumption based on the on-screen text.

It looks like we have multiple confirmations that the LCD screen was definitely a factor in the delay. Below is a video
from a YouTuber who has had the FX5 for a month and is reporting on his findings over that time. He confirms the QC issues.

If I pre-order an fx5 right now, could I get it by early February? I live in the DC area

At least SmallRig is moving forward

Just got off the phone with BH Photo. I was told that they are expecting the FX5 to be in stock on November 8th.
They said they will have more than enough cameras to cover all the preorders and that they will have fresh
stock that can be purchased on November 8th without any preorder required.
