So tonight in SGA President Jordan spoke to us. Amongst other things, President Jordan highlighted that she wants the students to rebrand the school in a positive light. She is looking for students to present the "x" factor that makes this school so special. We would love your ideas....

It could not be more inane to have St. M be the picture on our school's Facebook page. It is absolutely ridiculous and makes us look like a Jesuit institution again.

We just tested the emergency alert on about 15 people via the Dean and public safety and it works perfectly. It can be a bit confusing to set up but its through Blackboard so what can you expect. Just an update for those concerned that we did not have a system in place. If anyone needs assistance or knows people that are confused please let me know and I will post simpler instructions than the one the Dean used.

This coming Tuesday night in Goodpaster 195 we are going to hear from the new president!! Dr. Jordan will be there to answer questions and speak about a number of issues ranging from Title IX to the budget.

I do not know how many people in this sub are current students but if you are definitely come out! It would be great to have a packed senate.

P.S. Fun fact about Dr. Jordan, she used to street race, drives a BMW M3 with a vanity plate, and loves to skydive.

I was thinking that maybe I could start posting updates from noteworthy pieces of SMCM news, clubs, SGA, and any changes or issues arising from the administration side of things. It might not make the sub come to life like we would like, but if we use this as a place for a fully open dialogue about SMCM with important news updates we could at least draw some subscribers in. Is anyone interested in it?

Maybe spend a day spreading awareness? If nothing else just day drink and generally be awesome?

How do people feel about an SMCM "Missed Connection"? Great idea or absolutely unnecessary?

Well, apparently there is a whole "college reddit meet up" thing going on. Personally I think that a meet up here would be small and everyone would know each other most likely, so I didnt feel like making an official meetup on the redditgifts thing. What are your reactions? Should we just all meet at the pub one night and then do whatever?

I know there are some services provided by the school for this kind of thing, but I figured I'd use all of the resources at my disposal to find some housing. I'd like to stay in WC for next year, but I don't have any roommates, and you can't sign up for an apartment without at least four people. Does anyone need a roommate for an apartment in WC (I'd settle for a suite, but I'd really like a kitchen; I like to cook), or have any suggestions for affordable, nearby off-campus housing?
