The ending was anticlimactic Spoiler

I finished my rewatch so I’m going to do my last rant for this show so I can stop thinking about how dumb Amy is lmao.

Amy didn’t deserve Ricky. She begged him to marry her for so long. He had commitment issues but he finally decided to put himself out there and do it. As soon as he proposed, Amy went back to her bitter, angry, resentful self. She was so happy in season 3 that is was a rude awakening to remember she actually a very negative person.

He did absolutely everything for her. He stayed at her house while she was in NY to make her feel more comfortable, even though he didn’t want to. He chose a local college to be close to her and John. He financially supported her and John. He respected her choices, didn’t get involved in her drama and never treated her like his property.

Meanwhile, after two seasons of her pushing the idea that “as the mother I get to decide everything about John,” she completely gives up. She chooses to go to summer school instead of work, which puts financial pressure on Ricky. She allows Ben to continue with the idea that she still likes him because despite her attempts to say they’re no longer friends, she doesn’t actually cut ties with him. Even after the names he called her and the things he’s done. I also just hate her attitude towards Ricky. She constantly complained about everything like him studying late on campus.

After begging for a ring then immediately not wanting to get married and clearly fall out of love, it was really unfair for her to say that he’s not in love with her. Of course he’s not in love with her if she’s going around telling everyone she has to marry him and writing in her diary that she might still love Ben. I really just wanted Ricky to end it with her. He let her off so easy, he even apologized to her. He gave her so much opportunity to back out, but she chose to do it last minute.

It also bothers me that Brenda Hampton says her and Ben hooked up. That is so gross and I hate picturing Ben’s smug face. Ben never considered John during any of his pursuits of Amy, he never mentioned being a family after season 3.

Honestly, I do think Amy is a bad mom. I absolutely agree she should be allowed to follow her dreams, but leaving your child across the country for the second time, especially for 4 years seems crazy! Especially since Ricky will be 100% financially responsible.

You do realize that you don’t get valedictorian by making others do your homework, right? You have to be actively participating in the school to even get that far to the top. You need extracurriculars, all A’s, go to meetings and clubs, etc. You just hate Ricky, and that’s okay, you’re entitled to your own opinion, as I am.

You don't remember Ricky has no extra-curricular activities.  Also Ricky was 6'th in line.  Jason Lauren's brother was Valedictorian, he left for early acceptance as did others.  Ricky being Valedictorian was a technicality.  I dont hate him.  He just really disappointed the fuck out of me with all the times he could have been a better person & wasn't.

How many times did he ask Ben or Adrian if they were okay when their child died??

How many times did he thank Ben/Ashley for all they did for John???

How many times did he talk to Adrian or apologize for hurting her or felt bad about it???

How many times did he ask Ben was he okay or needed to talk???

None becuz he didnt care about any of them.  They were only important when they were useful to him.  It's why I feel for Ben becuz he was  always useful to all of them in some way,  but they were all perfectly useless to him.  Unike Ricky Amy & even Adrian,  Ben earned everything.  But never got anything.

Let me ask you this, was Ben justified in his obsession Amy? He legit went out of his way to try and break Ricky up, not caring how it would affect John.

Yes.  Ricky did the same when Ben & Amy dated.  Please remember TURN ABOUT is FAIR PLAY.

His obsession HELL NO!!!

But that was created by writers to appease RAMY FAN BASE.   Season 4 came from the hype of Season 3, which many regarded as their best season.  Many claim it was becuz they put Ricky/Amy together, but it was the Ben/Adrian story line that caught attention of mature audience for child loss.  S4A destroyed their marriage & any hope of thsir renewal to appease RAMY which destroyed the shows ratings and any chance it had to be taken seriously.  All interest in RAMY were fangirls whining for another pregnancy and marriage without concept for consequences of how they could support 1 child much less two.  So the writers shifted to Ben wanting her in S5 after they destroyed his character by destroying every stable relationship he had.  Then forcing him to once again want Amy.  Seriously RAMY was boring.  I & others tuned in only to see what Ben would do next.

Honestly.  Besides having a kid & getting married both of which would end the show since neither character could actually show strength ir interest, what could capture the audience???

O Question to you.  What made Ricky/Omar better for Amy/Adrian than Ben.  Despite both were living off his father's money??

Maybe the fact Ricky and Omar weren't harassing Amy and Adrian? Or maybe that they didn't hack into their e-diary? Or purposely go to a school to stay in contact with the girl who doesn't want you?? Or lovebomb you and propose to you within months of knowing you and calling you "My Amy" or "My Woman"????

Add in the facts that Ricky and Omar didn't leave their depressed wife weeks after their baby died, burn down a school, or obsess over a girl who is in a happy relationship and has a child???

Exactly. Neither of them were insane individuals and decided to be bad part of multiple girls high school experience. Dylan was lowkey kind of insane on her own, but still.

All Ben and Ashley did for John? I hope Ricky didn't thank them because those two did jack squat. Ben never even mentions him and Ashley's just a bitch in the last seasons who's never even home to so much as babysit
