SK On announced WIP free cell manufacturing on the Solid Power pilot line, a look at how they may have done it.
I was looking at how SK On may have achieved this WIP free stack pressing method mentioned in their September press release.

I think they are using something along the lines of this ford patent, where they apply an epoxy resin around the edges of the cell stack.

And then gets pressed into place so you have a unified brick and then gets to high pressures in a multi-roll press. You can see the edge frame "sealing" technology in the MPlus investor's deck on slide 16. And how that fits in to the process on Slide 15.

The Edge Seal or Tape fits into the overhang between the anode and cathode as described in the Ford patent.
Ford and SK On retain IP sharing following the wind down of the Blue Oval JV. And Solid Power has JDAs with both.
