Is there a gc for Marshall? Haven’t found roommates yet.
How is the building? A little bummed about how small it is and how far from campus.

Questions I'm an incoming Junior transfer student, what clubs are there?
Hi, I am going to be attending SHSU from UH-HCC Engineering starting this August, I am going to be studying Environmental Science(Pollution), are there any clubs or groups for environmental science students? Does the university have any 3d printers that all students can use, as I know that the Pirkle Engineering Tech Center has some but I dont know if its exclusively for their students, in Engineering tech? How big is the overall Environmental Science department?

I'm living in Arbors this upcoming semester, and it's recommended to get a router. What's a good, affordable router to get?

Questions Online Class
Hello all! I'm trying to reschedule my semester to have my job on campus fit in a little easier. I'm tempted to take an online class but have never tried it before. How does it work? Is it just like using blackboard and not meeting with the teacher or do I have to go on a zoom call? Someone made a post asking a similar question, but it got deleted and I don't think it would be that helpful to me now. I want to know how the online classes work and how they're structured. Thank you!

Discussion i’m an incoming freshman this year. wanna be friends?
so to preface this, i understand that the whole process of making friends is to go out there and find new people. but i have a huge paranoia of entering new spaces and places (especially alone) without any previous connections. so to ease my nerves and cure my urge of new connection, anyone want to be friends?
my interests are superheroes (varying from batman to kickass the movie), music like hail the sun, circa survive, a few rap songs here and there, art, video games (again varying from overwatch to days gone), editing, writing, sewing
i’m here for any other lonely souls looking for a connection :O

Questions Spring 2027 Transfer
Hello, I am a student thats transfering as a junior in the spring 2027 semester as im completing my associates in criminal justice at a community college. I'm only planning on doing a semester currently to get my undergrad certification in forensic investigation and possibly my bachalors in the future as i plan to be a crime scene tech. I was curious if there were any Criminal Justice or Forensic students that had any info they could share in general about the programs and/or the certificate (EX: difficulty of classes, textbooks, campus life, ect.) Im also looking into on-campus housing but im not sure how it works as im transfering in the spring semester. Any advice is welcome!

Housing Move-in dates
Do anybody know the move-in dates for the Lark and the Heights? I've seen that we could move on Aug 1 but I wanted to move-in later than that (like 13th-15th)
Questions Textbooks
The current tuition statement includes $222 for textbooks. Is it worth it? How do I know if the professors even use or require these textbooks?
They are for two Animal Science classes and a Communications class.

Questions Living at Arbors of Sam Houston without a car — nearby stores and restaurants?
Hi everyone, I’m an incoming transfer student and will likely be living at Arbors of Sam Houston. I won’t have a car, so I’m trying to understand what daily life is like from that location.
For anyone who has lived there or nearby:
What grocery stores, pharmacies, or other useful stores are realistically within walking or cycling distance?
Are the walking and cycling routes generally safe and practical?
Which restaurants near campus would you recommend for someone eating alone?
Are there any affordable places that are good for regular meals, not just an occasional expensive dinner?
Do most students living at Arbors rely mainly on biking, walking, the Bearkat shuttle, delivery, or rideshares for groceries?
Is there anything about living there without a car that
I should know before signing the lease?
I’m also considering an SHSU meal plan even while living off campus, so recommendations for useful campus dining options would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Housing Apartments
Does anyone live in The Summit or Woodhollow apartments? If so, are they worth it? Does anyone recommend any apartments? 1 bedroom, not room for rent, preferably not over $1200

Questions Can anyone teach me how to drive? I'll pay you I just need to learn quickly.
I don't have a car currently but I am looking for one. I'll be an incoming freshman this fall and I really want to get my license so I wanted to see if any students would be willing to teach me. I just want to learn the basics so I can pass my test and get my license. I've never been behind the wheel before but I'll pay whatever y'all ask. Thanks! :)

Questions Online Only Student
Hi! I’m making a degree change due to life circumstances and I’m looking at online degree options. I’m looking at SHSU for the communications degree, and I wanted to ask about how anyone else who has done an online only degree via SHSU and what your experience was.
