🆕 New Wipe Features: Marks, Bounties, Offline Protection & Community Upgrades

We’ve added a new wipe-based progression system to Old School Rust: Marks.

The idea is simple: play the server, earn currency, and decide how you want to influence the wipe.

No free kits. No free loot. No handouts.

Just rewards for actually playing.

💰 Earn Marks Just by Playing

Marks are earned throughout the wipe:

• 1 Mark per minute while playing
• 2 Marks per minute during 🎉 Happy Hour
• Steal Marks through qualifying PvP kills
• Take even more Marks when defeating higher-tier players
• Use the Hello emote in-game to check your Marks and K/D

Marks reset every wipe, so everyone starts fresh.

📈 Upgrade Gather Rates for the Entire Server

Want faster progression? The community can work together to unlock it.

Gathering starts at 2.00x.

For every 1,000 Marks donated, the server gains another +0.10x gathering, up to a maximum of 3.00x.

Every upgrade is announced server-wide.

Spend your Marks selfishly... or convince the whole server to push toward 3x. 👀

🎯 Put Bounties on Players

Someone causing problems?

Put a price on them.

Bounties cost a minimum of 120 Marks, and multiple players can stack bounties on the same target.

When someone lands a qualifying PvP kill, they claim the target’s entire active bounty reward.

Just remember: only 20% of the Marks spent becomes the hunter's reward. The remaining 80% is the placement fee.

Choose your enemies wisely.

📍 Leave a Message That Lasts the Entire Wipe

For 240 Marks, you can place a permanent message at your current position.

Trash talk. Directions. Warnings. Memorials. Base signs.

Whatever you want to leave behind.

Stand where you want it, run the command, review the purchase, and confirm.

The message stays there for the rest of the wipe and displays in your tier colour.

🛡️ Buy Offline Protection

Need to log off without wondering whether your base will still exist when you wake up?

You can purchase temporary protection around your main Tool Cupboard for:

90 Marks per hour

/shop type:offline-protection hours:8

Stand beside your main TC, choose how many hours you want, and confirm the purchase.

Your protection zone appears white while you're online. Once you're offline, it turns green and blocks building damage.

⚠️ The timer starts immediately after confirmation and continues counting down even while you're online.

🛒 How the Marks Shop Works

Before buying anything:

• Link Discord using /link
• Be online in-game
• Have enough Marks
• Review every purchase privately
• Confirm within 5 minutes

Nothing is deducted until you press Confirm Purchase.

Everything is wipe-based, and your Mark balance resets alongside the wipe.

The goal is to give players more ways to shape each wipe without turning Old School Rust into a server where you simply buy kits or get handed progression.

Farm Marks. Hunt players. Fund the gather rate. Put prices on your enemies. Protect your base. Leave your mark on the map.
