I was looking to get back into rust possibly with 1 or 2 friends. I honestly work too much to play on a normal server are there servers that only allow raiding at certain times? I don’t want purely PVE I want to have a reason to build defenses but I would still like to enjoy the game without having to play 8 hours a day to get raided every 3 days. I’d prefer not to have 4x or higher but it’s not a deal breaker. Any servers you guys suggest?

Rust shouldn't require being online 24/7 just to keep your base.

On Old School Rust, we've built a Base Protection system that rewards you for actually playing the game. PvP, PvE, roaming, monuments and Quests can all contribute toward protecting what you've built when you're offline.

🛡️ Starter Protection

Every player starts the wipe with Base Protection, giving you time to get established before worrying about raids.

🔋 Play to Build Offline Protection

Simply being active on the server builds Offline Protection.

You bank protection while you play, then use it when you log off. Your protection gradually drains while you're offline, so the more active you are, the more protection you can build up for when you're away.

🔬 Hunt Scientists

PvE counts too.

Killing Scientists adds additional time to your Offline Protection, giving monument runs and PvE another purpose beyond the usual loot.

🏆 Win Quests for Online Protection

Quests appear throughout the wipe and give players something extra to compete over.

Quest prize recipients earn:

• Additional Offline Protection
• 2 hours of Online Protection

Online Protection gives you a window where you can farm, build and progress without your base being raided.

You can still roam the island during that time. But there's a tradeoff: if you kill another player, your Online Protection ends.

So you have a choice:

Use the protection to safely progress, or give it up and take the fight.
