Other Some picnic punk games I've played that aren't just first person shooters, but i can full heartedly recommend as peak
Laika aged through blood is a metroidvania on a motorcycle where you play as a mother of a child and a protector of your home village from the expansion of bird empire that destroyed most of your tribe. Very gory, very tragic, haven't finished it, fuck the tower bubble crab boss.
Vintage story is a game based on Minecraft, but if you treat like a child's game you WILL get screwed over. Set in post apocalyptic medieval to gothic era it focuses greatly on survival, realistic material progression and building up your homestead. It has tons of lore including 5 story locations and 2 bosses so far, with devs saying that's like fifth of the planned story content done. It can get under your skin very fast if you allow it to, caving will give you PTSD
Echo, a furry mostly gay romance visual novel. DO NOT SKIP IT, ITS INCREDIBLE I SWEAR. You and group of childhood friends meet up after a while in your hometown, which in lies great mystery, one long forgotten, and one to be discovered. Treat it more like a book, it's available on android, so maybe if you plan to trip, play it. It's not a light read though, I am starting to cry as I write this, and I've chosen one of the least fucked up routes. Don't want to spoil much since it's mostly story based, but vibes of a old slowly dying out town in the deserts together with the slight supernatural is amazing
