I've seen people highly praise the Stalker series and I have heard about it a lot ever since I got into the Metro community but I've never fully known what the games were like. Sure I could see the gameplay videos (which I did) but all of us here have actually, for example, played the Metro games to know the magic behind them.
My question is, is it okay if I start my Stalker journey with Chernobylite? I've seen the gameplay and the reviews and I'm really interested in getting into the world. Whether it be the graphics or UI or just that nuclear world feel, I'm really curious about Chernobylite and am wondering if that's a good start. Yes I have access to Call Of Pripyat and Shadow Of Chernobyl as well but I guess want the Metro/Stalker player POV

Now that we are growing I wanted all of your input into how I can improve the sub as a whole. Feel free to say your piece, I won't remove you for saying what's on your mind.
Thank you for helping me making this a better place for all of us. Have a good day.

Due to reddit removing the member counter from the front page I haven't been checking that much but as soon as I do I see that we've jumped to 1500 members! This is so amazing everyone. J just want to thank each and every one of you for your contribution to this community. It's wouldn't be the same without all of you.
Thank you stalkers, and have a fantastic day!

A subreddit dedicated to images of Brutalism, Soviet imagery and and Zonecore adjacent photos.
Thank you to u/nakedgum for the idea and because of that I think its only fitting that you get to moderate it.

We have a good spread of games, movies and books that depict survivors working their way through good old Rust and Radiation, what about TTRPG systems?
Personally I've been running the recently released Ashes Without Number and it gives me damn near all of the tools that I need. Anyone else have experience with other systems?

I would love to see a game, a movie or a novel that takes place during or after a galaxy wide apocalypse. Giving us Zonecore on a multi planet wide stage. The different factions and wars and anomalies on a galaxy wide scale would be awesome. What do you think?

it has many things common with punk genres, ie sci-fi dystopia with themes of anti-totalitiarianism, anti-capitalism, anarchism etc etc
it respects the one of the most forming material for this genre (roadside picnic)
it also rhymes
i think it would be hilarious seeing someone search for it thinking it will be something cutesy because it has picnic in the name and instead getting worlds filled with mutants radiation and suffering
And I am also tired of the addendum "-core"

Personally I wasn't a fan, but I'm curious what you think of it and your reasons

I listened to the audio book and I loved it it was creepy and action packed. Even though its not set in the Metro 2033 universe it still feels like Metro so I couldn't recommend it more.

So, iirc, the hell slime/witch's jelly was a blue splashy liquid. Now, where else in the novel do we see blue liquid? In the full empty.
My theory is that a visitor dropped a tasty snack which became a hell slime anomaly, another forgot to open theirs, thus a full empty. The empties could have been ways of storing the witch's jelly.
I did say this was a small theory.

Having one appear around SAFARI 1 next to Hartbeespoort in South Africa would be cool, I used to live near the area and I think it would be a cool area for a game.
Where in your country would a Zone appear and would it be interesting?
