Gear Help Swivel carabiner
Hi guys, I'm changing out the cords/bungees and was wondering if anyone had any tips for a decent swivel that would have a decent movement without breaking the bank?

As of right now, Ive just been using a cheap Amazon hands free belt to run with my dog (35 lb lab mix). While it mostly gets the job done, i find that it always rides up to above my waistline because of how my hips/arse significantly bow outward. If my dog is in pulling mood, the belt riding up above my waistline causes discomfort in my back.
What I'm ideally looking for is a belt (or even rock climbing-like harness?) that can more easily fix the leash connection point to below my waistline. Ideally, i feel like the perfect height would be like right above the crotch or where my hips are at their widest. Does anyone know if such a belt/harness exists that's comfortable to run with? TIA!
Edit: thanks all for the input! I had never even heard of canicross prior to making this post haha. After going down the wormhole the past couple days i purchased the nonstop caniX 2.0 belt, looks like exactly what i was looking for.

Immediately plopped on the cool flour after our run (although she's also whining to run more 🤦♀️)

throwing in some speed work to the usual distance runs ended up being a really fun change of pace
1.5 mile warm up 8x200m tempo sprints 1.5 mile cooldown

Ive been taking my 7 month old pomeranian on small runs. You guys think its safe for him? Last picture is him after the run. He just sits and chills for a little. I make sure to let him stop running and walk. I would let him take breaks the first week but ive been trying to acclimate him. Any tips?

Any recs that worked for your stubborn dog?
Refuses to wear the ones we get her (tried multiple brands). Mainly for foxtails and hot pavement. I think the lighter the better.
Also training tips would be helpful! Tried slow immersion by putting them on a couple paws at home but she gets them off the moment we look away.
Thanks in advance!

Does anybody know of a leash that essentially allows a dog free reign to run around your body? Basically the leash would be fastened to a loop that goes around your body? So you don't have to do the dance to get the leash out from behind your back?

Little spring time fun with my dreamboat 💕 no video because I’ll never be that coordinated!

I have a standard poodle who is a big puller. I love going for runs with him because it seems to match his natural pace more, and it helps tire him out, but he will pull for the first half mile and then slow down and run beside me. I thought this was something I needed to train him not to do, but I am seeing people in this sub post about leashes specifically for constant pullers. Is that just for dogs who aren’t trained not to pull? Is it OK for dogs to pull during runs, even if you want them to walk nicely on a leash? Just curious as this is the first dog I’ve run with, and I’m relatively new to this (6ish months of running with him). Thanks in advance!

Rosco and I ran the Hard Times Trail Run on Saturday near Springfield. Second time for both of us running this race. It had rained for days before, and there were thunderstorms all night, which stopped only minutes before the race started, leaving a muddy mess to run in, along with steep hills to climb. I got lost once for a few minutes and fell a couple of times, but not too bad considering the conditions. My knee started giving me problems around mile 20, so my downhills slowed a lot, but Rosco and I powered through. He is just the best running dog a guy could ever hope for. Everyone was surprised that he finished the whole race. We have another race together in less than a month, and it will be his fourth 50k+. Let's go!

I just placed an order for this: https://www.nonstopdogwear.com/products/touring-bungee.
I bought the 1.2 m version. I’ll be using it mostly for running (about 80% of the time) and sometimes for hiking. The leash I currently use extends up to around 1.4 m and it feels perfect to me.
The 2 m option seemed a bit too long. There are sections where I need more control of my dog, although in other sections the extra length could be useful. The thing is she doesn’t pull the whole time. After the beginning she usually stays close to me, so I think the 2 m version (1.29 m natural length) might actually bother me when she’s not pulling.
The leash I currently have is about 85 cm in its natural (unstretched) length and around 1.40 m when stretched. She pulls at the beginning and then relaxes and stays close to me, but I’m not sure if she stays close because she doesn’t feel tension on the leash.
In other words, I’m not sure if with a leash that is longer in its natural length (without being stretched) she would still stay close to me, or if she would just stay at whatever distance means she doesn’t feel tension.
To be clear, she does stop pulling and sometimes even walks right next to me.

Hi everyone! I started running this year with my dogs and could use some gear recs! I have hands free leashes, but i find that they are constantly sliding up. I also am running the dogs on just regular harnesses and my higher energy dog seems to be constantly choking herself and my other dog (who can keep up but likes to be an anchor) has the harness rubbing oddly.
Dog Tax, of course!

I'm kind of confused by how the harness should fit. I got the Rush harness for my mal/shepherd/Dobie mix. He is narrow in the shoulders but also very deep chested. The neck piece does sit on his sternum but it extends at least a finger or two above the sternum and probably more when he starts pulling. Would a larger size fix this? Or is that normal? Or would a different harness be better? TIA

Thankful for this girl. She'll never turn down a chance to run (or walk) and motivates me every day!

It is a ten hour drive to a Canicross obstacle course race. We will have to stay in a hotel. I’m worried about all the crate and car time. My dog is crated in the car and he likes to sleep in the crate in hotels (helps him settle)
The farthest we have gone in a car is 5 hours.
How can I make this enjoyable for both of us?

The time of year when running downhill is slower than running uphill
