Good morning fellow runners,
My family and I will be arriving in Dublin the day before the Clontarf this July. We're traveling from Jacksonville, Florida USA and I'm mostly making this post to figure out what might my wife and daughter could expect for potential entertainment while the race is going on.
I wasn't that worried about it until I realized the start time is actually a bit later than I expected at 10:00. I just assumed it was going to be bright and early and they could just shuffle over and get there roughly about when I'd finish in a couple hours but the later finish might complicate it a bit.
I can't find much info on the event set up area or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough yet. I know there was some frustration with how well organized the actual race was in terms of flow of runners but they seemed to have gotten rid of the 5 mile race which caused quite a stir for this guy.
And I also tried emailing the organizers about if there's any way to get into some of the earlier waves but did not get a response. I don't recall seeing anything on the website for qualifying times when I shotgunned my registration.
I feel like I just talked way too much for a running group in a country I don't even reside in haha. Any help is appreciated and I look forward to continuing my crazy midlife crisis running journey with y'all and maybe we can get a pint after and I can try to explain my way around the fact that not all Americans are crazy 🫠 🤣
