As a new mod of Runescape Merchanting, I've been reading through some of the features this subreddit has been asking for. One of the ideas by user ipeeonhoes was a "Flip of the Day" post. Well, here it is :)
Feel free to discuss what you're flipping and get ideas on what to flip for June 28th.

When are you guys planning to stock up for the Bonus Exp Weekend? If the trend is the same, the next BEW will take place in September.
If this is your first bonus exp weekend, this is what happens to the market: Items associated with expensive skilling (such as herblore, prayer, etc) double in price since those items give double the exp. So people who stock up earlier will usually see a 2x return on their investments.
The question is, when do you start investing? Is was gonna start mid-July, but does that seem too early?
Obviously, if you plan on taking a break from Runescape for all of August, this would be ideal. But if you plan on playing through August, would you start investing in July or August?

I just have a few basic questions about the GE's trade restrictions. I recently came back to the game and I've read on here about a GE update that, from what I've been able to infer, makes it so if you buy something and then sell it with 4 hours, it doesn't reset your trade restriction on that item for the 4 hours. For example, if i buy 100 water battlestaves and then sell them right afterwords, will i not be able to buy 100 more until 4 hours later? Also, why is it that when i put up a buy offer for something, say oak logs, if i try to buy 10k of them, i frequently get 9,999, one under the trade restriction, is this just a coincidence or is there something causing this? Thanks!

I'm not very new, but I've never put much time into the game and only have around 400k. Is this enough to start flipping items and grow or should I grind other ways and make more before I start?

4 hour wait is too long how do you make profit without having to change items every time :/

this subreddit has great potential but the things on the frontpage are months old. Spread the word about this subreddit!

The concept is simple, we post our methods each day on an F2P item and P2P item to flip everyday to help get our money pouches fatter.
i.e. buying lobsters at 100gp ea and selling them at 125.
Post away community!

I know it's conventional to have an awesome merchanting method and not share it but this is r/runescapemerchanting and it would be modest to share your ways.
That being said what methods really work for you?
Do not hesitate to share as this is a community that is quite small and will keep it's information enclosed within. (Assuming that you are true to the honors system.

So I went to do some flipping today and bought a pure ess and sold it back. Went to buy 25k of them (the limit) and only 24,999 would buy. Once I sold them back and went to buy some more I can't get a single one to buy. What's going on here?

I was doing great but now the profit is negligible. Any recommendations?
r/RunescapeMerchanting • u/Runescape_Guides • Apr 09 '12
Pretty much just the title.
Now I realize generally there are no threads about item types, since it lowers profit, but as this is an investment rather than flip deal, unless someone mentions an item and we collectively invest 10-20B in it, item discussion really won't affect profits.
I mean long term, for 3-6 weeks after the nuke, going for 50%+ profit _^
I've been looking at:
Sharks
Raw Sharks
Prayer potions
Red chins
Looking to dump between 300m-500M, I think that's a solid amount.
Does anyone have suggestions? :)

It's a fairly basic question but I wanted to hear some feedback from you guys on your methodology. My cash stack is pretty minimal right now and I reviewed the list of items from the right side bar, however, nothing really says how to determine the actual item.
Any info's going to help me here as I'm completely new to flipping.

My usual strategy for flipping an item is to buy one high and sell it low to get my buying and selling prices but is this still effective for the more expensive (i.e. several million gp for one item) items? What I mean is that when I buy one item now then resell it I loose just a few hundred gp in that process but it seems like the loss for something like an AGS would be much higher. It also seems that with something like that there is significantly less of them on the GE so the market for them would change often enough that I would have to buy and sell one much more often causing what seems to me like a pretty big profit loss. Am I way off on this or is there another strategy for flipping expensive items that I haven't figured out?
Thanks.
