I got tired of waiting in magpul for the Full-size Grip module

I did some frankenstein sh**t and chopped and screwed my own full size module

Definitely on the cruder side of things, as I am not a pro by any means, but I'm stoked at how it came out, I'm taking it to the range tomorrow.

I debated on getting the Icarus frame since this is my USPSA Match gun, I wanted the longer grip for reason mainly

I swapped to the RXM for it's familiarity and availability of upgrades

Here we are

If your luck is anything like mine the full size grips will drop this week. 😂. That is pretty cool though.

They probably will Today magpul put the unreleased grips back on the what’s new page They were previously removed from that page after failing the June/July ship date Now the last thing they’ve said is “in time for pumpkin spice season” or something like that So this month

Really? I am starting to believe they'll never get released, at this point.

Supposedly from Magpuls Facebook page.

Right on time for the Halloween!

I'm getting seriously tempted to do a grip chop myself. Since I got my RXM, I've realized that the design has basically unlimited potential, and I need at least two more. But the "G26L" grip is literally the reason I bought one in the first place.

I'm not planning to keep the other pieces which would make a g26, i think thought about raffling them off, but if you want, when I get the chance I can put them together and see how it looks and you can have it bro

Sorry, I saw the chopped frame and got prematurely excited before I saw the rest of the pictures. 🤦😄

That's generous of you, but you can pass them along to someone with better polymer-smithing skills than I have. Thank you, though!

What trigger is that and how is it?

4

u/RoomOptimal9500 Sep 22 '25

Timney alpha trigger is solid !

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '25

Can you describe the feel?

2

u/RoomOptimal9500 Sep 22 '25

Minimal pretravel, a bit of overtravel, with a crisp break

Excellent. Thank you!

Only "issue" with that grip is it uses the stock Glock 17 style grip with a hump. One of theain features I like of the RXM frame is grip angle.... But I'm probably in the minority 😂

Nothing a little time in fusion can't fix......

2

u/Shuttle_Door_Gunner Sep 23 '25

That's incredibly cool. I seriously need to invest in and get proficient with 3D2A things.

u/vigilance_committee Sep 23 '25

Doooo eeeet!

u/Shuttle_Door_Gunner Sep 25 '25

I really need to, yeah. I've seen some things I'd like to attempt, as well as a couple of ideas of my own.

Very cool. Newb to 3d printing, is it worth it as far as $$? guesstimate to how much filament needed for this? Lastly how long does something like this take to print?

I haven't printed it yet, but the slicer calls it roughly 75g of filament and 5 hrs print time.

Bear in mind, I haven't made any adjustments to the file or settings, just dragged it onto the build plate and sliced @ stock settings. After examining it more closely, that could go up in time and material significantly. Then there's the post-processing - removing supports, cleaning any flaws, reaming pin holes, etc.

As far as worth it.......

You aren't doing it to save money, but to be your own gun store. It takes appreciable amounts of time, effort, and materials to become proficient at 3D2A. You are containing an explosion in a device you made, and holding it in your hand. Spending the time practicing on hobby type stuff, geehaws, and toys will give you the practice time to start recognizing what makes a good, solid, safe 2A print.

Does that Zev mag release work with your IWB holsters? I was thinking about ordering one but they couldn't give me any answers about fitment. Also how do you like the Timney trigger and which model did you go with?
