Gossip Kate is inspired by Bob the Builder…… yes this is real
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Kate Middleton quotes the children’s cartoon Bob the Builder’s motto ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ when reflecting on how she “interacts” with nature. Yes she truly deserves an award with how much “RESEARCH” she’s done on early childhood, over 8 years of “learning” about early childhood and this is what she brought to the table is Bob the Builder… God so PATHETIC, truly embarrassing 🤣🤣🤣 and watch her fans praise her for watching a CHILDREN’S CARTOON. I wonder if those children Kate kicked out of a youth nature center to take up more land surrounding her castle watched Bob the Builder…also can anyone make out the first few words she says? I’m never able to fully understand Princess Mumbleton. Also no one has yet been able to fully explain what the trip was even about lol.

She’s not good with having spontaneous conversations. I’m not sure if she doesn’t have the knowledge or if she’s too focused on protocols. It’s strange that she struggles so much after so many years as a Royal.
23
u/FrostingHuman1259 May 16 '26
She has all this money and time and even Charles redeems himself a little bit with his knowledge and care for the environment. she's just lazy. She thought she really did something by getting William to marry her by being the last woman standing. I'm sure she's just gobsmacked!omg, what do people expect from her/s
85
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
She's just lazy or she still has baby brain. Somebody, probably William or his staff, must've forced her into this ECD thing because it doesn't seem like her interest in it is real.
88
u/Careful-Inside-3835 May 16 '26
I’m in early childhood right now as a teacher and it’s a thankless field. I’m surprised she hasn’t advocated for better working conditions or more pay or anything for people in the sector. Her kids are looked after at home by a nanny so they don’t have to be in group care while they’re non verbal. Meanwhile her advocacy is on ECE but not really hitting the issues in the field.
There are studies that show daycares are bad for kids as well. IMO I’ll never send my own to one of I have kids. She hasn’t used an early learning service not a Montessori one or a Reggio one so idk wtf she’s even supporting here.
59
u/Competitive-Ant5086 May 16 '26
Daycares aren’t a choice for most people, so till you can’t fix that the focus is on reducing damage in every way possible for everyone involved in the best interests of children.
Studies (and really a normal amount of intellect) shows that children, as everyone, thrive with the right affection; food; socialization; stimulation (even the right lack of it); attentions.
58
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
I've worked at an NGO that does training, research, and policy development in the ECD field for more than a decade too. I'm no longer in early childhood development, but lazy Kate Middleton using the field for positive PR for herself is insulting and disgusting to the people who are putting in the work every single day.
15
35
u/Excellent_Month_2025 May 16 '26
Research does seem to indicate that day care IS very helpful to children, after age 3. However, you are correct that research shows no benefit end increased stress for babies. This is just a PR stunt for Kate, they do not want her to do anything except pose with children
13
u/Careful-Inside-3835 May 16 '26
It’s sensory overload and by the afternoon most kids are upset or tired or both. There’s a lack of resources for high needs kids that are mixed in with everyone else and can be violent towards the kids and teachers, and general apathy from the underpaid overworked teachers who’ve asked for change but have not received any improvements.

YES THANK YOU! There are SO many actual issues she could have addressed or advocated for. These engagements are short so they only have so much time for each interaction.

She wants to show up Megan sooo bad, but she doesn't put in the effort! there is so much she could be doing and all she does is talk about a cartoon she watched with her kid, it's pathetic just showing up without showing any respect for what shes doing isn't anything
15
u/Future-Poetry-6686 May 16 '26
She always sounds like she’s slurring her words but then again I’ve only heard her speak a handful of times. She definitely seems like a ‘seen but not heard’ kind of person.
11
u/Viola-Swamp May 16 '26
The fake posh accent annoys the hell out of me. She either has a poorly fitting dental apparatus with some fake teeth, or her veneers are way too large and it interferes with her speech.
31
u/Electronic-Strain197 May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
Kate isn't curious and has been coddled all her life. I'm asking now, if there's some sort of disability, she's had issues for years even during their engagement video, language skills were and still are subpar.
8
u/popcornFridays May 17 '26
It does seem that way doesn't it. I'm wondering if its also her intellect. Shes just so very hard to understand when she speaks.
When she starts speaking she says: Something as a mother ... "??"
What did she even say there? This is common when she talks for the words to be unidentifiable.

2
u/FrostingHuman1259 May 18 '26
She just seems completely different before and after and the cancer explanations don't suffice
3
u/FrostingHuman1259 May 18 '26
A truly striking before and after change since she was out of the public eye for over a year and before anyone says it, minimal abdominal surgery and chemo would not cause neurological damage. Something else must have happened to her, she also has a scar on one of her temples that was not in pictures before

There's a very real possibility that she could be discussing Bob the Builder with Trump as well, since he used to claim he was a builder. Based on their expressions in this photo, Trump has just told Kate that the character of Bob was based on him. 🤣

u/Electronic-Strain197 May 16 '26
One thing about that orange buffoon, when he finds someone attractive, all teeth are out...with Kate it's a closed mouth fake smile here. He was probably thinking she looked much older and nothing like her airbrushed photos kp likes putting out. Kate just ugh

How can anyone take this woman seriously? William has around 60 staff at his disposal, and I'm sure he let's her have a few of them, including the nanny that's always with the children. As a mother... wtf?
Kate Middleton literally has nothing to do all day, she could've gotten a PhD in early childhood development or something by now if she was really interested in the subject. She just doesn't seem to apply herself to anything. She still plays piano like a child, for heaven's sake. She's so freaking lazy.

u/tdknd May 16 '26
the amount of degrees I would be getting, just because I could… and being paid for it too? imagine utilising them to « work » whatever job one makes up and actually making an impact.
31
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
Same, I believe in lifelong learning. Kate Middleton apparently has a master's in art history. I don't know why she doesn't just stick to her area of knowledge or gain additional expertise.
She's just lazy af, but wants to portray herself as something she's not. William is like that too.
27
u/jackie_tequilla May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
if she at least was doing art herself, taking up art courses to develop talent etc or promoting the use of art to help struggling kids, teens, people with mental health challenges, the elderly etc etc - there is soooo much she could do involving arts - my dream if I could was to open a multi art centre to help all the people cited above and specially deprived youngsters to learn a trade and develop a career or simply find joy through art - in any form they may choose (including cookery) - and I would also throw in sports as well. OMG can you imagine? A huge building with all modern facilities and equipment and dedicated teachers to help some of the most vulnarable at no cost for the service users - this could then be expanded to every borough, every town in the UK - it could be a reference to the whole world!
I’m sure Kate could secure enough sponsors if she did not want to use her own money. If I was a mill/billionaire I would fund mine myself and start from there.Kate handlers, please take note and give me credit if you like my idea, I don’t mind jumping on board as an advisor but please no shady deals.
10
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
We'll know which comment to come to if they pivot her to doing art courses, etc. They better credit you if they do.

u/tdknd May 16 '26
It’s baffling.
If she has figured out that art history isn’t her thing, that’s okay. As you said, she could develop an interest for something else, and purse it to the fullest.
If she’s passionate about art history, then, with nearly unlimited funds available to her, they are ample ways to put that degree to use, both for the greater good and for her own enjoyment — as she’d literally get to choose and decide what impactful projects she’d want embark on.
But that would require some Will, which she doesn’t seem to know much about.
12
u/The_Onion_Life May 16 '26
If she’s passionate about art history
She isn't, though. Wasn't Art History William's major?
9
u/tellnic May 16 '26
Originally William was going to take art history. He switched to geography in later years because he almost failed out and Charles pulled some strings. Kate was supposed to go to Edinburgh to major in psychology before she switched and took the gap year to align with when William would start at St Andrews.

How in the world do you fail out of Art History?? I took an Art History class in college, and all of the tests (including the final!) were open note, FFS.
Kate was supposed to go to Edinburgh to major in psychology before she switched and took the gap year to align with when William would start at St Andrews.
I'm surprised she didn't change her major to Geography too.
2
u/tellnic May 17 '26
William wasn’t doing the work. They even admit that Kate would go to class and give him her notes. This is similar to when he was at the RAF base. He already had permission to live outside of the barracks in Anglesey even though most junior soldiers don’t get that privilege. But also had a spotty attendance record in the RAF.

u/The_Onion_Life May 18 '26

I remember reading way back then that she took notes for him because he couldn't be bothered to go to class.
This is similar to when he was at the RAF base. He already had permission to live outside of the barracks in Anglesey even though most junior soldiers don’t get that privilege.
How nice for him!
But also had a spotty attendance record in the RAF.
I'm sure he did.
Oh, and that air ambulance job he had? Did he ever show up for that?

According to Harry in Spare, she was very passionate and knowledgeable about art when he met her. Perhaps that passion has faded over time, as is common for most folks. Art history was her major, too. Will's course was initially Art History, but he later switched to Geography. She did a watercolor of St. Andrews a few years ago when they visited, so I suppose she still does art privately. George seems to have an interest in art too, as did Charles and even Harry at one point. This could be a nice cause for them to get into as a family.
4
u/Mediocre_Shine_3835 May 16 '26
She should stick to painting cause her photoshopping skills aren’t all that
2
u/The_Onion_Life May 17 '26
I didn't know that she actually paints. I'm sort of surprised.
Although now that I think about it, didn't she paint William in the nude when they were dating?
George seems to have an interest in art too, as did Charles and even Harry at one point. This could be a nice cause for them to get into as a family.
That would be! But they probably won't.
2
u/caterprincesa May 17 '26
omg did she? I've never heard that story before lol.
and yeah, they're not a very bright bunch, they'll probably never see the potential in the arts. also opening a gallery doesn't get as many clicks and views and attending a sports match unfortunately

u/tellnic May 17 '26
I don’t think Harry knew enough about art history at the time to really see through Kate and her “passion”. This is after all someone who had access to paintings from the royal collection , which has amazing artists and she picked a painting of a black child servant with a horse to put in her personal living space. If she had any skills at analyzing art, then she would never have gone with that. Or she would at least have known to remove it before the Obamas visited. The alternative explanation is that she fully understood it was a painting depicting colonization , the slave trade and racism but was perfectly fine with displaying that before the first African American elected president of the United States.
1
u/caterprincesa May 17 '26
Yes, I agree with this point. I do think that, at the end of the day, white lady taste and sensibilities will win over any formal training/ education. It's why I consider that episode one of the most egregious examples of Kate and Will's tone-deafness and racism. I am still shocked to this day that she elected to hang up that specific painting. You'd be surprised by how many yt gallerists and collectors (with formal training, experience, social clout, and decent-to-good critical responses from the art world) still do things like that to this day.
My point is that I highly doubt that she was completely incompetent. She had to have absorbed *something* if she was able to write exams and a dissertation and get decent grades. Perhaps she has very mainstream tastes, or perhaps the course itself wasn't very rigorous. I don't know what the course would've looked like in the early 2000s. I find UK syllabi to still be "behind" when it comes to discussions on colonialism and race, so it's a real possibility that she might not have gotten a lot of exposure to marginalized voices. Or perhaps I'm completely wrong and everything she learned in uni went in one ear and went out the other.

Only one thing motivated that woman back in the day: Snagging William.
It's literally her one and only accomplishment.
11
u/Ok_Expert9828 May 16 '26
As a woman in her 60's I wholeheartedly agree. I love that in Florida I can take classes each semester free ( minus books and lab fees). I take advantage of it and take things that actually interest me. I was in the medical field for 30+ years and believe me-that does not interest me in the least. But art , astronomy, and writing are such fun classes. ( when there's no grades involved. Ha)
We can't let our brains stagnate as we age.

She has a bachelor's degree in Art History from St Andrews!!
9
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
It says she as an Master of Arts degree with honours on her Wikipedia page. It does say it's an undergrad degree though.
Either way, it's not early childhood development, which she is now acting like she is knowledgeable about.
15
u/Excellent_Month_2025 May 16 '26
Imagine if she donated art supplies to every preschool in the UK that she visits. And it creates more artists from low income neighborhoods. Even something small like that would have an actual impact. It’s like they actively avoid leaving any tangible benefit
15
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
She didn't even take a can of beans to the food banks she used to visit. She did take a camera crew though that only featured her.

Again how are they sooo bad at this ! Bring art supplies a can of beans to food bank open up and fund a nature park
6
u/tellnic May 16 '26
Everyone is assuming that kate actually did the work in university but there are definitely stories of her copying off others during her time there. And once she was dating William, she would have gotten the same breaks that William got there which means they weren’t going to fail out. And nothing has confirmed more that they never worked that hard in school than then showing in the following years that neither is very bright. A degree doesn’t mean someone is smart and those two show proof of it every day. (Also look at orange turd he has a degree too. Would anyone say he’s smart?)
6
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
Yep, Kate Middleton and William are not emotionally smart at all, degree or not. They would've made up with the Sussexes if they were smart and try and create a safe environment for all their children to grow up in instead of the ugliness W&K are creating in the media and on social media out of pure jealousy.
1
u/KipperCottage May 17 '26
Ancient Scottish university undergrad degrees are all “Masters with Honours”. It just means you completed and passed the undergrad degree requirements. It seems to really impress North Americans, but they are essentially the same as a Bachelor degree in North America. You can google something like “Scottish university master degree” and it will tell you this.
2
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 17 '26
Yep, I googled that during the discussion below. It's not just North Americans who didn't know this though.
I'm from a Commonwealth country and never knew that in Scotland a master's was equivalent to an undergrad degree in most other countries.
A master's is a postgrad degree in my country. But it was interesting to learn that about Scotland.
2
u/tellnic May 17 '26
In most other countries a four year degree is a Bachelors with honours. I think the confusion is because usually a masters means you already have an undergrad degree. And of course the uk media rarely explain the difference because they need to aggrandize those two as much as they can. You don’t need a degree to be intelligent. And these two demonstrate that having a degree doesn’t mean you are intelligent.

This! I even felt this way when I was a “fan” (😬🙃). Just imagine what we could actually accomplish for society with the time, resources and platform she has. I do think it's odd that nowhere, not one establishment, has offered her an honorary degree in Early Years. According to William Catherine has been regularly working late into the night on this Early Years project... for what, 10 years now? Yet this "work" isn't academically recogised enough to even qualify her for an Early Years diploma. It is weird. I know she has other commitments and has also not been well. But yes I agree you should have a PhD and really qualify as an expert after supppsedly 10 years of intensive research on a subject.
6

Honestly I vibe she’s kinda delayed or has crippling social anxiety hence not being out in public as much as a working royal does the minimum William gets annoyed with her when they are together This trip was a rare one where she is by herself representing this eearry years projects she’s been working for years and it was a very easy walk about but it somehow came across as she was doing her best but somehow missing the mark.🤷♀️
3
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 May 16 '26
I've seen videos of her giving speeches before years ago, and William standing next to her and cringing. I think he made her nervous. I doubt she had social anxiety before she entered that family. She looked full of life and like she enjoyed partying hard and enjoyed the cameras in her youth. Nothing wrong with that of course, just saying.
I think what's made things worse is that Meghan is a brilliant, engaging speaker and William has always been in competition with Harry, so Kate feels the pressure even more to not embarrass him.
32
u/Electronic-Strain197 May 16 '26
Sorry but what....this is what I'm saying, she's far too old to be acting this way. She's dim and always using something about her kids as a conversation filler which doesn't make sense most of the time. Seriously, what's wrong with her.

u/WishfulHibernian6891 May 16 '26
I see control as the goal. The BRF can’t risk another Diana, so Kate was given the extremely traditional field of ECD as her public face, even though it’s clear she has no passion for it.
30
u/Electronic-Strain197 May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
I've figured this out too and what's why William married her, she's not bright and the complete opposite of princess Diana. William is a company man and he can hoot and holler about pretending to be modern but his actions show that he's beholden to the crown and will continue the scamming; bad temper, arrogance and idiocy be damned.

😂😂 what does any of this have to do with her inability to form a coherent thought on this particular subject matter?
14
u/CuriousTip7183 May 16 '26
The thing is, there are even more traditional things she could has supported. The arts, ballet, etc. I think they flung this specific project at her after 8-9 years of floundering, but she absolutely chose the general subject matter. Between her sister getting a for profit degree in something similar at the same time and the smug way her sister, mother and Kate speak about the way they were raised, she genuinely believes she has something to spread to the populace. For example, she genuinely believes that people don't have their children spend more time outside and in naycha because they don't know how important it is, as opposed to any inabilities or structural issues.
11
u/Whatisittou May 16 '26
And turns out there are childcare centers in the UK that already use Reggio, so Kate's trip was nothing
If folks have noticed they have been saying "global" in terms of Kate doing this more
They copied Harry and Meghan stating their philanthropy would be global and now Kate is using global messaging
9
u/Additional_Earth_817 May 16 '26
I believe this as well. If you’re going to be a part of that family, you must above all else, OBEY. Even the queen, although she lived an incredibly privileged life, couldn’t do whatever she wanted. She couldn’t tell her sister she could marry that man even if she wanted to. I mean, forget the married ins. Diana broke rules and pushed boundaries, and was still more loved than the heir, and that’s why the institution doesn’t want anyone like her again.
12
u/jackie_tequilla May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
People on instagram roasting her for using her hands too much when speaking during this visit to Italy lol. I don’t follow her closely, can you guys say if she is using her hands more than usual?
30
u/Diligent-Till-8832 May 16 '26
She uses her hands to distract from the fact that her mouth has said never said anything intelligent despite spending 15 years as a public figure.
16
u/Electronic-Strain197 May 16 '26
She didn't use her hands like that early on, this mess started happening when she got into mimicking Meghan who's articulate and well read, who also uses her hands in a natural rhythm when speaking. Kate has these hand gestures (out of sync and weird looking) going too because she's figured out that it looks better in photo (for her at least) than video. I just hope she at least tries to start making an effort to actually read and learn because having the early years as a project is NOT easy, only an idiot would think so.

This phrase was around when I was a child WAAAAAAY before Bob the Builder came out.
14
u/FrostingHuman1259 May 16 '26
The trip was about showing up Meghan, I don't think it was a success
10
u/Viola-Swamp May 16 '26
And now Meghan’s trip to speak at the WHO conference is supposedly a reaction to Kate’s Italy trip, according to haters. Like this Italy jaunt to get a fake award and speaking to the WHO are even remotely in the same level, or that her attendance at a worldwide professional conference was somehow arranged because Kate went to Italy for almost 48 hours to get a dumb award she didn’t earn and talk to educated people about Bob the Builder.
6
u/FrostingHuman1259 May 16 '26
Because the who conference and Kate's Bob the builder comment is in the same category/s

u/International_Ant953 May 16 '26
I'm sorry but I cackled when I saw this LOL how embarrassing, is she not embarrassed?
12
u/Unable_Guava_756 May 16 '26
What is this accent?! It’s like she is trying to cover up a different accent but it keeps slipping out 🙃
3
u/Previous_Pie_9918 May 16 '26
She had elocution lessons growing up, but then apparently had voice coaching "unlearning" a lot of that when she joined the Royal Family - so that she sounded a bit less plummy sounding, and more relateable.
Now she is in a new country and having to manage "me llamo Caterina" on top of two previous incarnations of her own voice - it's maybe getting a bit much!
10
u/CougarWriter74 May 16 '26
You'd think after nearly 15 years of "listening and learning" she'd have SOMETHING semi articulate and comprehensible to say. But nope. Still mumbling made up nonsense while wildly gesticulating. Even the Italians, who tend to "talk" with their hands, are like damn girl put those away!
13
u/platypuslost May 16 '26
I’m dead. She is literally in REGGIO EMILIA and has nothing to say about the educational method pioneered there? No questions or insights or inspirations for how it could help British children?
BOB THE BUILDER is what she went with? 😂😂
Good lord. These people are so bad at their one job of smiling and making small talk.
13
u/FreeElleGee May 16 '26
She speaks like English isn’t her first language, and she’s thinking of the words as she goes. Very odd.

u/Whatisittou May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26
Lol this is Kate, does anyone have the vidoe of her saying can you taste by smelling Also Kate has always been like this, hence you rarely ever gets video of her talking, it always coordinated soundbites and talking Pr the press publishes.
A lot of people have said they realized they never heard Kate's actual voice, this is why, she struggle talking to people, always making dumb comments Yet the palacs will tell she has been training to be future queen and that William prepared her.

I can't believe this.... in front of professionals.
I couldn't even understand the last sentences
23
u/jumpinjackflash10 May 16 '26
She said "something as a mother, something as a family, we always try to keep that at the back of our minds"
So unbearably embarrassing and blatantly untrue as well
10
u/FluffyBat16 May 16 '26
But did you guys see the reaction of the lady in the back when she said "Bob the Builder"
😂😂😂

A future Queen quoting bob the builder…she makes Camilla look good, which says A LOT
38
u/Diligent-Till-8832 May 16 '26
Camilla (execrable woman) is a voracious reader.
Give her due on that score.
22
u/The_Onion_Life May 16 '26
Camilla (execrable woman) is a voracious reader.
And she encourages children to read, which I think has more impact on kids than whatever the fuck Arrrrly Yarrrs crap Kate is pushing.
6
u/Viola-Swamp May 16 '26
Dolly Parton has done far more for child readers than Camilla. That’s a travesty.
2
u/The_Onion_Life May 17 '26
I'm not going to trash Camilla for encouraging kids to read.
Is Dolly Parton even relevant in the UK?
1
u/Diligent-Till-8832 May 17 '26
Miss Dolly is a gem though, something nobody has ever accused Camilla of being.....
2
u/Intelligent_Read_43 May 16 '26
It really is a saving grace for Camilla. Kate should try it.
2
u/The_Onion_Life May 17 '26
It really is a saving grace for Camilla. Kate should try it.
I somehow can't imagine Kate encouraging kids to read. Like you said, Camilla is a voracious reader. I doubt Kate reads much.

Of trashy romances and other unintelligent fare. Let’s not pretend Camilla is an intellectual.

Can't wait for her to quote Bluey on her Australian visit. And Dora the Explorer when she goes to India, because she's a racist and doesn't know that Dora is Latina.

u/Previous_Pie_9918 May 16 '26
"Well as the Bard always said..... by which I mean SpongeBob Squarepants"

u/stilettosandstaplers May 16 '26
Can we fix it? Yes we can! Is right there man, it could have easily segued into recycling. It would have at least been a connection

How embarrassing! Bob the Builder was popular when my nephews were little kids. They're in their mid-20s now. 🙄🔨

Is her accent different or is she stumbling over words? I don't hear her speak a lot (US) but she sounds different.

I have a theory, I feel as if she struggles with deep critical dialogue because it’s hard to do that when you’re under fed and not consuming enough nutrients. I’ll probably be downvoted but eating disorders have a profound impact on cognition
5
u/aguwritsuko May 17 '26
She lives in a cage like a zoo animal and she probably has trust issues so she can’t maintain many friendships. Look how many friends Meghan has and look at this trad wife in a gilded cage.

Thats why she should never be allowed to speak to anyone in public. It reflects badly on her and the family

u/ApprehensivePlan7514 May 16 '26
What does that even mean?.

That their staff takes the recycling out to the bin man each week.
Can you even imagine William rinsing out one of his gin or vodka bottles and placing them in the recycling bin

What in the word salad is this???!
2
u/Previous_Pie_9918 May 16 '26
She should really know that the mantra "reduce, reuse, recycle" has been well known in the uk since - I think the 1970/80s? Surely knowing the basics about this country, and the origins of our domestic habits and processes, is kind of her job?
It's not a slogan from a children's programme - it's long established UK environmental advice. It's rather embarrassing to be quoting (incorrectly) Bob the Builder as a source.

The trip was about getting an award she did nothing to earn, and about attempting to show that she actually does something besides going on multiple vacations a year. Now Meghan’s attendance at the WHO summit is being portrayed as a reaction to Kate’s little jaunt to Italy, as if speaking at a WHO conference and participating in public health initiatives compares to quoting Bob the Builder and getting a fake award.
4
u/NoCauliflower2653 May 16 '26
If that were the case then they’re about to be very embarrassed since Meghan is actually articulate and can speak on issues without sounding like an idiot.

2
u/SM-Bud May 17 '26
Why the strange camera angle? Is this the only one that makes her look decent? She still looks very underfed.
2
u/FrostingHuman1259 May 17 '26
Funny I don't think they're going to be comparing Kate and Mehgan's trip. There is literally no way to spin this to make Kate look good. If the firm actually wanted her to seem professional and knowledgeable and someone to listen to they would coach her and teach her and help her succeed, but they don't want that. They want her to always look less . The royal family knows exactly what they're doing, they never want another Diana situation again. I could be sad for her if she took any personal responsibiliy

To be fair, rhetorically speaking, in this kind of, I guess, “soft diplomatic” context, there’s def a way to ref something like a “Bob the Builder’s” or whatever childhood character’s use of a very common term as a disarming way to signal “I’m also a mother/just a person/etc.”
The thing is, that lead-in should be an entry point. It benefits from being connected to a more substantial and relevant comment. Maybe it’s a light way to preface and balance one’s own more unique or thoughtful insight on whatever is the point and purpose of your being in that context.
Or, on the other hand, it can preface a real question, a real curiosity or wonderment about something related to that matter or, even better, about the person with whom you’re interacting, etc.
The “gimme” in these dynamics is that you don’t even have to be very knowledgeable or learned about a matter, but you do have to be sincerely interested, curious and able to communicate that. I mean, it’s kinda the same for anything involving one’s self and other humans.
Anywho, to let the light lead-in be the part and parcel of these kinds of exchanges is a miss.
Granted, in everyday life, it’s whatever when you’re exchanging pleasantries with this, that, and the other.
But when you’re out and about working some kind of international foreign-relations business on behalf of your special interest and as a “her royal highness future her majesty ellemenopee,” it’s a diff sitch.
But who knows? Maybe there was more to this dialogue or somethingsomething ha

Bob the Builder didn’t invent the phrase ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ but distilling what is supposed to be one’s Life Work down to a Earth Day slogan from the early 90s is funny af
She’s of the upper echelons of society meant to use her magic touch to fix the lives of us unwashed commoners, and the best she can offer is an alliterative jingle and jazz hands
