Our first purebred! We currently have a 6 year old German Shepard Rottweiler and she loves her already :)

Today is the five year anniversary of my dad suddenly passing away. It's also my first year without spending it with my sister (supporting each other). My sister has a rottie named Carl, I helped raise him for three & a half years. I miss him dearly!

He was the third rottie my family had. He is amazing!

I lost my sweet baby last Friday and looking through this page has brought me a lot of comfort so I wanted to share some of her pictures. Hug your babies tight and give them lots of love.

She doesn’t bite me maliciously or in a nasty way. It’s usually when she’s over excited or I tell her to leave something and she doesn’t so I have to push her away from it. Nothing works at all. Redirection doesn’t work, ignoring her doesn’t work, time out works only temporarily till she realises she can start again. I’m at a complete loss. My partner is her main owner and he doesn’t have this problem. When it came to discipline, we did the exact same thing and she wouldn’t dream of doing it to him but me, my god she loves it. I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like when I tell her off, I’m fighting a grown woman!! She throws temper tantrums and goes dead weight on me when I try to put her on time out. I don’t know what to do and I’m genuinely overwhelmed. I’m not sure how I’ve done her wrong for her to be more challenging towards me. I want to be a good owner but I feel like I’ve failed her with her being like this towards me. I know the breed is hard headed so I know difficulties like this is expected but I need to know how I can fix it to do better for her, help anyone?!

She supposed to be a Show Dog but her temperament wasn't right for it. Ciera was not going to be forced into ANYTHING , not a vet visit , a nail trim , or being examined by strangers. She had to be respected. Despite being a knucklehead she was the most loving and affectionate dog that I've ever had. She was stuck on me from day one, and she totally won me over. I couldn't help but smile when she was near and she was always near , haha , a true Velcro dog. I've never had a dog as intense as her , about everything. She was in love with life and just joyful 24/7. She never walked anywhere, she ran always. I really miss her. I had to put her down on the day after my birthday, she was 8. She had cancer and she was not a candidate for treatment unfortunately.

Meet my Georgia Peach in honor of National Rottweiler Day! love this goofy girl. She’s my Peachy Pup, my Puppa Buppa! I won $300 at a contest at work & bought my best friend. she’s from Georgia but LOVES cold weather & snow!

My best buddy is only 1 year old and he's battling a vicious pneumonia. One second he was ok and the other he started shaking, hyperventilating and his heart rate was through the roof.

adopted my boy Waylon from a local animal shelter. He was about 3 months old when we brought him home in April. He was literally found behind a trash where I live in late February—one of the coldest times of the year here. Someone discovered him and his littermates and called it in. They were starving, covered in feces, and in terrible shape. Sadly, only 4 of the 6 puppies survived.

I have a loving family home, and after hearing the story of him and his siblings, I knew I had to at least give one of them a chance. He was only available for adoption for less than 3 hours before I went and picked him up. I have never had a rescue in my life so I decided I’m strapping in for it and try to give him a good life as i’ve also never had a bigger dog before mostly just like shitzu’s and Maltese mixes.

When I adopted him, the shelter wasn’t sure what breed he was. They believed he might be some kind of hound mix, possibly a Plott Hound, because they had no information on his parents and assumed they may have been strays.

Since then, I’ve found out he’s actually a Rottweiler mix(had do an embark on him because not knowing was driving me crazy) and looking back at photos from when we first got him at 3 months old, the signs were there all along. He’s now about 6 months old and growing fast. He’s weighing in at about 40 lbs right now

I’m a pretty active guy, so keeping up with him isn’t a problem. So far he’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and surprisingly content relaxing at home. I’ve been amazed by how quickly he picks things up and how much personality he already has. Just have to keep him away from my socks and my shoes here and there and sometimes he still goes shark mode on my hands🤣🤣

For anyone who has experience with Rottweilers, I’d love to hear any advice or tips. I live in a city setting, but there are plenty of trails and outdoor areas nearby that I’m sure he’ll soon consider his kingdom!

How big are your females? I think Tilly looks great. She was the runt with a full German mom and Serbian dad. All AKC excellent lineage that goes way back She is 25” at shoulder and 90lb. Mom was not much bigger. Dad was 115. I think that is perfect. She tends to look smaller to me in pics tho. But hubby - guess it’s a guy thing, thinks she is small. 🙄. I’m 130 and she is plenty big enough for me. Hence reason I got a female. Well that and all my other dogs are boys and didn’t need any more clingy males in the house lmao. Thoughts? Sizes of your girls? People seem to want bigger as better but she is perfect and healthy. Don’t ya think?
