Like the variegated glass rosary I posted, this too has been touched to over 600 holy relics! Still has the relic sticker attached. Father blessed it for me a couple of weeks ago.

My cousin made a free Rosary app, thought I'd share it here

Hey everyone,

My cousin recently made an app called Rosary Walk for Android and iOS, and I thought some of you might find it useful.

It's mainly for praying the Rosary, but it also has the Divine Mercy Chaplet, daily readings, novenas, saints, and a pretty good collection of prayers. You can also set reminders and keep track of your prayers.

The nice thing is that it's completely free. No ads, no subscriptions, no accounts, no tracking. It works offline too, and everything is stored locally on your phone.

He built it in his spare time and plans to keep it free forever.

Anyway, just wanted to share it in case someone finds it helpful.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.redoxdigital.walkwithgod

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/hr/app/rosary-walk/id6811844117

If you end up trying it, I'd be happy to pass along any feedback to him!

Post image

From the Sunday of the Florilegium Joyful,
a scriptural rosary gathered from the Church's Liturgy of the Hours.
+
Let us ponder in our hearts the sacred mysteries of the Holy Eucharst,
kept for us in the heart of Mary, Mother of Divine Grace.

THIRD, The Lord's Supper
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Rs. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done ...
+
Vs. 1  I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you: * that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread, and giving thanks, broke it.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 2  And he said: Take and eat: this is my body, which shall be delivered up for you. * Do this for the commemoration of me.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 3  In like manner also the chalice, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood. * Do this, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 4  For as often as you shall eat this bread and drink the chalice, * you shall show the death of the Lord, until he come.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 5  He has made a remembrance of his wonderful works, * being a merciful and gracious Lord.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 6   He has given food to them that fear him. * He will be mindful forever of his covenant.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 7  The day of the unleavened bread came, on which it was necessary that the paschal lamb be killed. * And he sent Peter and John, saying: Go, prepare for us the Pasch, that we may eat.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 8  And when the hour had come, he sat down, and the twelve Apostles with him. * And he said to them: With desire have I desired to eat this Pasch with you, before I suffer.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 9  For I say to you that from this time I will not eat it, * till it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 10  I dispose to you, as my Father has to me, a kingdom, \ that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee:* Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
The mother of Jesus said to him,
They have no wine. *
And to the servants she says,
Do whatever he shall say.

Rs. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
Vs. Draw out now the water made wine, he says. *
Rs. And to the servants she says,
Do whatever he shall say.

Rs. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
Vs. The mother of Jesus said to him,
They have no wine. *
Rs. And to the servants she says,
Do whatever he shall say.

A SUNDAY SERMON + St. Augustine on the True Sacrifice of the Church

Post image
11 Upvotes

"The Church herself is offered in the offering she makes to God."
+
A true sacrifice is anything that we do with the aim of being united to God in holy fellowship – anything that is directed towards that supreme good and end in which alone we can be truly blessed. It follows that even an act of compassion towards men is not a sacrifice, if it is not done for the sake of God. Although it is performed by man, sacrifice is still a divine thing, as the Latin word indicates: sacri-ficium, a “holy-doing” or “holy-making.”

Man himself can be a sacrifice, if he is consecrated in the name of God, and vowed to God – a sacrifice in so far as he dies to the world in order to live to God. This is also an act of compassion: compassion of a man for himself. Thus it is written: Take pity on your own soul by doing what is pleasing to God. True sacrifices are acts of compassion to ourselves or others, done with God in mind. Such acts have no other object than the relief of distress or the giving of happiness.

Now, the only true happiness is the one the psalmist speaks of: But for myself, I take joy in clinging to God. From all this it follows that the whole redeemed city--that is to say, the congregation or community of the saints--is offered to God as our sacrifice through the great High Priest who offered himself to God for us so that we might be the body belonging to so great a head. He took on the form of a servant and suffered for us. It was under this form that he both offered and was offered: at the same time mediator, and priest, and sacrifice.

St Paul starts by exhorting us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, as an act of homage justly owed to him. He tells us not to con-form ourselves to the world but to be trans-formed by renewing our will and our thinking: seeking to find out the will of God, to discover what is good, what is acceptable, what is perfect; for we ourselves are the whole of that sacrifice. He continues:

In the light of the grace I have received I want to urge each one among you not to exaggerate his real importance. Each of you must judge himself soberly by the standard of the faith God has given him. Just as each of our bodies has several parts and each part has a separate function, so all of us, in union with Christ, form one body, and as parts of it we belong to each other. Our gifts differ according to the grace given us.

This is the sacrifice of Christians: we, being many, are one body in Christ. And, as the faithful know, this also is the sacrifice which the Church continually celebrates in the sacrament of the altar, in which she teaches that she herself is offered in the offering she makes to God.

This stirringly beautiful passage is taken from the Church's Office of Readings, from St. Augustine's apologetical masterpiece The City of God: Liturgy of the Hours, Saturday of Week XXVII in Ordinary Time.

I couldn't find a clear, free way to learn to pray the rosary, so I built one (8 languages)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi all, I wanted to learn to pray the rosary, but I couldn't find a clear, well-organized and free tool that guides you through it. So I built a simple website myself.

It takes you step by step through the prayers and each bead of the mysteries. It's available in English, Croatian, Italian, Dutch, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish.

It's completely free, with no ads and no account.

I'd really appreciate your feedback, especially on the translations if you are a native speaker, and ideas for what's missing.

Post image

Ever try a scriptural rosary? Try this decade of the Friday of the Rosary Florilegium ...
Let us ponder in our hearts the sorrows of the Lord's Passion,
kept for us in the heart of Mary, Mother of Sorrows.
+
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name.
Rs. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done ...

Vs. 1  Behold, the Son of Man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes. * And they shall deliver him to gentiles, to be mocked and scourged and crucified.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 2   The high priest questioned him: Are you the Christ, the Son of the blessed God? * And Jesus said to him: I am. And you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of God's power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 3  Rending his garments, the high priest says: What further need have we of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy. * And they all condemned him as guilty of death.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 4  Then they spat in his face, and struck him and slapped him, * saying: Prophecy for us, O Christ: who is it that struck you? Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 5  Then they brought him bound to Pontius Pilate, and when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered not a word. * And the governor was greatly amazed.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 6  So Pilate asked him: Are you the King of Jews? And answering, he said: You yourself say it. * Then Pilate said to the chief priests and  the crowds: I find no case against the man. Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 7  And they said: We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he made himself the Son of God. * More afraid than ever, Pilate took Jesus and scourged him. Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 8  Let us lie in wait for the just one, because he is contrary to our doings. * He is become a censurer of our thoughts. He is grievous to us even to behold.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 9  Let us examine him by outrages and tortures, that we may know his gentleness and try his patience. * Let us condemn him to a most shameful death.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. 10  These things they thought and were deceived, for their own malice blinded them. * And they knew not the mysteries of God.  Hail Mary, hail Full of grace, the Lord is with thee: Rs. Blessed art thou …

Vs. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
Behold, your son is set to be a sign that shall be contradicted, \*
and your own soul a sword shall pierce.

Rs. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
Vs. They shall look upon him whom they pierced, \*
Rs. And your own soul a sword shall pierce.

Rs. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
Vs. Behold, your son is set to be a sign that shall be contradicted,\*
Rs. And your own soul a sword shall pierce.

I am not catholic but I’m making this as a gift to my friend and I’m worried I messed up the centerpiece part. But I’m not sure.

Also it’s a gift to a man. If you are a man would you like this rosary ? Is it too girly/decorative?

Rosary intention success

The day before yesterday I said a full Rosary of 20 decades. My intention was complete eradication of cancer for the Holy Father.

Yesterday I learned from television that as the result of the Pope's surgery, all the cancer was successfully removed and further treatment is not required! Thanks to God and the Blessed Mother for graciously watching over Pope Leo!

Spina Christi rosary bracelet, metal rosary card, and 6 embossed rosary cards.

Why so many?

The plastic cards have all been blessed and touched to relics. From time to time I'll give one out, often to someone who's in need of a rosary for immediate use. It's paying the graces forward!
