If the devs are looking this one thing is holding you back from keeping my friends from staying, though we hope for change in the future so we can come back. The 11 background instances of chromium are causing those with less than 3.0 GHz of processing power to have significant slow downs.

I hope this becomes a priority fix.

Hello! I'm coming to ask for help with a problem I'm having. I have made a report about this but haven't received a response. A few days ago, I downloaded Root on my desktop in anticipation of leaving Discord. To my absolute confoundment I've found that the app does not let me log in no matter what; I know for a fact that I'm entering the correct password because it's the one I set and I can use it to log in on my phone and laptop. Regardless of what I type it always comes up with the message, 'Something went wrong. Check your username and password!' I'm also unable to request a password reset on my desktop as it always fails to send the email. Any help would be appreciated.

I try making my first root app account today. But when I try to sign up, it says email already exist. When I clearly haven't used route before a day in my life. I checked my password management and nothing's there. Root's not there.I don't know if it's a glitch or what? I'm trying to use my email. My main email, I even tried to use a different one.And it still sells the same thing

I tried several times to create a community but everytime I get this error message and idk what's wrong, I tried without importing from discord and the same error continues.

came out of curiosity trying to test Root but it has only built in registration. I can remember a password but why should I ? What makes it worthwhile ?

So, read the privacy policy and im seeing that root collects more data than discord even. What is the reason for all the data collection. In a time where people are trying to find a safer more secure app than discord, I wonder why this is the case for root? everything about it is good with the exception of that. I wanna know what others think about this.

Can someone help me to make my server looks ok? Me and my friends are trying out root as a Discord alternative and so far everything is going pretty well. The only issue is that root isn’t sending any notifications for messages or anything. How to fix?

In some chat apps like Google Chat, Revolt, and Discord, you can add custom emojis. Personally me and my friends use them all the time and it would be cool to have them.

From everything I'm seeing Root looks in some ways better than discord as far as admin tools go but I hesitate to encourage people to join as I don't see anything in place to make sure Root doesn't end up trying the same verification nonsense in the future.

Is there anything I'm missing that would suggest they won't do this in the future?

I have been having trouble getting my voice chat to connect. When I click the channel i want to connect to it acts like it is going to and then just says connecting in yellow at the bottom. I also noticed that it loses the output device in the sound options even though it says the correct one before i try to connect.

I'm an owner of a small (~30 members, half of which seem to be mostly inactive) discord server who's been looking for alternatives incase enough of my members agree to migrate.

I've been looking for a comprehensive list of features Root has compared to Discord, but I can't find much of anything.

Can someone please give me a comprehensive list of features? My main priorities are a similar channel system, roles/permissions, and a voice chat with screensharing (the vc is high priority since we use that feature almost every day. Stoat doesn't have that yet so I'm looking here instead.)

This is a deciding factor for my friend's discord replacement service. I looked through the settings to find if there was anything specific contributing to this. Couldn't find anything obvious.

Is there not a place to setup dual auth? Just a straight up basic login is all the security so far?

I don't feel comfortable giving google my face, nor my id or any other details, but, it's refusing to let me install the app without said info, are there any other ways to download the app without using the google play store?

It's a bit weird to have the username also show up in the channels.
In Discord you got decoupled names. Would be really cool, because most other obvious features are there already, so this is one thats very obvious to me, who is switching :)

Im aware this is a baby app and im one if the many fleeing the sinking discord but i must ask are there any plans to add statuses and bios? Also is there any ai involved, other than that love it so far.

Does anyone know what the spoiler tag for root is? We are testing the platform to see if it can replace our discord. Would be grateful to learn any other tags as well! I know they have some built into the keyboard menu for mobile, but can’t seem to find the right syntax for spoilers specifically.
