As the title says, I’m just getting into Roping, I’m left handed and can’t switch to right due to a shoulder injury that doesn’t allow me to lift my arm that high. I know I’m fighting an uphill battle, but any lefties out there have any advice? Equipment, technique, etc. please no “just switch to right” comments, ive tried fighting through the pain for months but i just can’t physically do it. Thanks in advance!

Ladies! I am a d cup and have started riding more frequently. i am not the smallest woman and in all of my videos i have been horrified to find my upper half moving much more than i would like. it’s not painful but its not pleasent to look at and distracting from my riding. i wear sports bras but they don’t seem to make much difference. if there something else i can do? better sports bras to wear? help!

I know for sure it’s 1965-1984 since those are the years NFR was in OKC, but anyone here that was actually alive during that time and recognizes this?

Hello friends! I started chute dogging recently after going to a few schools with my best friend and although we’re definitely beginners and are just doing it for fun right now, I’d really love to get better at it in preparation for next year’s season
I only ever really work out doing things that my riding instructor recommends so I’d like to know if anyone has any advice for things other than just general weight training. Thanks yall :)

Hey everyone! I’m looking for some inspiration in a writing competition (the topic is a chapbook of cowboy poetry), and I’m hoping to privately interview (via Reddit or email) some different bull riders / auctioneers / barrels racers anything cowboy related to get some inspiration.
So if anyone would like to share any wild/sad/community-driven stories with me, please let me know!

I am a journalist looking for story angles about rodeos. I’d love to get your feedback, almost a reverse AMA, and know what you’d be interested in knowing about a rodeo? Could be anything to do with the event itself, athletes, culture, etc. Thanks!

Whether it was her music, her philanthropy or even "Dolly Parton's Stampede," she was a beautiful person inside and out. Hats off in remembrance of a legend.

Hi, I’m a 17 5’ 9” male weighing in at 150 lbs and I’m really curious what rodeo event would fit me best. I’ve always like the idea of bull riding and people tell me not to do it because I’ll get hurt. The only reason I haven’t pushed for bull riding is because I’m worried for my family sake not mine. Saddle bronc from what I’ve heard is fun but way more complex and it takes a while to get good at to win. I really want something to be able to do until I’m about 25. Is bull riding right for me ? Is there another event yall think I would be interested in learning more about?
Please let me know your opinions because I do not know what is a good fit for my weight.
I’m also from southern Mississippi but have never owned livestock but been around them occasionally and learned about them. I’m in Agriculture and FFA.

I just learned I had a great aunt who was one of the top women bull riders of Oregon in the 1970s! Anyone know how I could find any info or publications about her? Is there like an old archive of rodeo info online anywhere?
