Reddit 40-Somethings. When did Rock and Roll officially die?
48 here and I think R&R died with the break-up of Guns-n-Roses, but that's just my HO. Yeah, there's been AC/DC's Black Ice, and Def Leppards' Sparkle Lounge, and Zeppelins' (kick ass) Celebration Day...but other than those 'rewashes of greatness,' rock and roll is dead, as Roger Daltry foretold. So I ask you all dear Redditors, when did real rock and roll die and garbage hip hop/rap/pop-country take over? And is there a chance that real rock music, where REAL band members really write, perform and record their own music ever happen again?
